It's not enough to learn how to work. You have to learn how to think for for yourself.

The brain is an interesting organ. It operates in two modes. The direct mode and the default mode.

Let me start with the default mode. This is the mode where you go through the day without thinking. You are basically in autopilot and you follow the same routine every single day.

For example, waking up at 05:00 in the morning, getting ready to go to work, getting to work, attend meetings, write reports, go fo lunch, go back home, prepare dinner, watch TV then go to bed. You'll realise that this is your routine from Monday to Friday all month and all year. You engage in no thinking activity. You repeat this over and over and over.

Now the direct mode on the other hand is when you are present. You control what you think. You evolve what you think and what you do. You are deliberate in what you think. You are creative. You are a decision maker, you make the necessary changes that need to be made.

The difference between an individual who uses direct mode and default mode is shown in the works they achieve. Individuals operating in default mode are usually employees who wait for the executives to tell them what to do and how to do it. They have no sense of creativity. They play it safe.

People operating in direct mode ask more questions, are creative, get involved, are go getters, looking to launch the next big idea. They take risks. They have a system to help them achieve maximum results.

In the long run, default mode operators wake up one day and realise they have wasted a chunk of years working for a company or organisation and nothing to show for it. Or when they get laid off from their work, they suffer the most because they too have nothing to show for it. They made no investments, they never thought of starting their own business or even side hustle or maybe they did but working on their job felt rather more comfortable so they stuck to that.

Do yourself a favour and learn how to think, and not just how to work.

Happy Sunday

I was minding my own business when a question popped in my mind.. 'why do most Africans die with their businesses/ purposes?'

Then another question rushed right in before I had much time to structure an answer😅 the question was, 'How did Jesus manage to set up the Church in such a way that its still in existence till this very day?'

How do these questions even link? A business and the Church?

We'll personally I always see this earth as God's business and we the people as his products.

Jesus came to set the way for us, and eventually he ascended back to heaven when his purpose was fulfilled right? But even when his purpose was fulfilled setting the way for us, washing away of our sins- his purpose didn't leave with him. It remained and up till this very day Jesus's purpose is still manifesting in people's lives. The purpose of Jesus is still at work in our lives.

If we are his Children and He has given us our own purposes to pursue through our businesses and our careers why do they die with us?

Shouldn't we have the same anointing to have our purposes stay behind and continue the work we had started or established?

Purpose or business without structures, systems, visions end up dying with the founder.

When Jesus ascended back to heaven, he left the church behind and the church was left with his vision, teachings, his principles, his works and testimonies that he once was here. Most importantly the Holy Spirit.

What do you intend to leave behind for your purpose or business to continue operations when you are nolonger around.

It's different for each individual depending on how you want to be remembered. On how you want your purpose to continue living on and manifesting in the live of the people you leave it with.

The most important lesson here is you have the choice, the time, and resources to make your purpose or business live on or die with you.
