We are appealing for donations to help pay for Simba's medical and living expenses. He is a 19-year-old man from Gokwe, diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease(ESRD). He is currently receiving kidney dialysis at Gweru General Hospital for free.
However, he still needs to pay for medication, tests, and accommodation.
With your help and support, we have been able to cover these costs since July 2021 but we are running low. We continue to ask for your help in making sure his financial needs are met in the coming months.

Lupus can affect major organs of the body. When it affects kidneys it is known as lupus nephritis.
Over 40% of people with lupus will have lupus nephritis.
Tests for lupus nephritis include urine tests, blood tests and kidney biopsy.
Treatment includes immunosuppressive medication.
Leading a healthy lifestyle will help slow down the progression of kidney disease.

I often think of the things I could do if I didn't have Lupus... For one thing I would be at work right now and wouldn't have spent over two weeks basically sitting on my couch in one position because of chest pain. Dr said I have which means there is swelling and inflammation in the cartilage that connects the ribs to the sternum. I feel a sharp pain everytime I breathe or move my upper body, shoulders, arm... I didn't realize how many actions involve movement of the rib cage - getting up from the chair/couch, stretching, getting dressed, rolling over in bed....

We thank everyone who has contributed and shared Simba's road to recovery so far. With your help we have managed to pay for Simba's accommodation, transport cost and medication for close to a year now.
However, he has been hospitalised multiple times in the past few months. His doctors are yet to determine the cause of his current predicament in order to map out a clear course of treatment and have been treating symptoms as they arise. A number of additional tests have had to be run with prescribed medication administered as per the doctor's advice. This has all been settled from previous donations received. We are presently appealing for more donations to cover expenses in the coming months.
Please continue to share and donate to help save this young man's life.
