The second group of school heads for the Leading Learning for Gender Equality (LLG4E) workshops in Makoni, Mwenezi and Nkayi is now in session. Today is Day 2 and the participants have been taken through crafting a gender inclusive school vision, creating a school culture and climate conducive for quality teaching and learning. The LL4GE workshops are being conducted with support from the British Council and HigherLife Foundation.

Today we celebrate the importance of sign languages and the strides being made to expand possibilities for learners with visual impairment in Zimbabwe. The Ministry is currently filming & editing the more than 3000 radio lessons into the Zimbabwe National Sign Language in line with our vision of becoming the leading provider of 21st Century inclusive, equitable quality education for socio-economic transformation by 2030. We are leaving no learner behind.

Leading Learning for Gender Equality workshops in Makoni, Mwenezi and Nkayi districts. The workshops, conducted in partnership with British Council Zimbabwe, are aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching and learning at schools through instructional leadership with a focus on gender equality. The workshops will be conducted in all the districts of the country.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim's inaugural National Schools Arts Gala will be held at Prince Edward School in Harare from 14-16 September 2022. Don't miss this rare opportunity to celebrate the fruits of the competence-based curriculum as we prepare for its review. Dance, art, modelling and music, including live bands will be on show from 0800hrs-1600hrs. The gala is running under the theme "Celebrating cultural diversity leaving no learner bhind through music and movemnt.

The Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) 2021-2025 & Education Amendment Act dissemination workshop for Southern provinces has just ended with the official opening being done by Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim PS, Mrs. T. Thabela. Participants were also taken through the basics of developing provincial and district operational plans for the next two years by the consultant, Mr. P. Muzawazi.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim is holding the Education Amendment Act and the Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) 2021-2025 dissemination workshop at Flamboyant in Masvingo. The three day workshop is being attended by SDCs, teacher unions, Education Coalition of Zimbabwe - ecozi and Ministry officials from Manicaland, Masvingo and the Midlands provinces. Similar workshops are earmarked for the other provinces.

With the Competence-Based Curriculum (2015-2022) cycle ending this year, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim is carrying out a curriculum review which will see all stakeholders being consulted. This week our teams will be carrying out the first phase of the terminal evaluation exercise in all the districts of the country meeting teachers, pupils, parents, district and provincial staff to get their views on the curriculum. The evaluation process is expected to inform the crafting of an updated Curriculum Framework running from 2023-2030. UNICEF Zimbabwe

Our High School Moot Court team has done the nation proud again. They team has just conquered Europe beating the Netherlands in the final yesterday in Bucharest, Romania. Having been crowned World Champions a few weeks ago culminating in the invitation to take on Europe, the team, which received a USD30 000 boost from the Head of State, H.E. Presedent ED. Mnangagwa, did not disappoint sweeping aside top European nations and dislodging The Netherlands in the final yesterday. They are now Undisputed Champions. Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim Secretary Mrs. T. Thabela met and congratulated members of the Zimbabwe High School Moot Court team for being crowned World Champions at the 2022 International High School Moot Court Competion. The team will now be the only African representative at the European Moot Court to be held in Bucharest, Romania from the 25th of June to the 5th of July 2022.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim has scooped the gold medal in the education and training category at . The Hon. Minister Dr. E. Ndlovu and the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. T. Thabela received the trophy from H.E. President ED. Mnangangwa during the official opening ceremony of the country's premier trade and investment expo. Other contestants in the education and training category included the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology, Development, all universities and tertiary institutions. The Ministry recieved a trophy, a gold medal and a certificate for attaining first position. Well done team Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim Makorokoto! Amhlope! Congatulations!

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim Permanent Secretary, this morning led Head Office staff in cleaning up the vicinity of the Queen Lozikeyi Building as part of the National Clean-Up Campaign held every first Friday of the month. The National Clean-Up Campaign was launched in 2018 by H. E. President, E. D. Mnangagwa in a bid to maintain a clean environment in line with the Government's Vision 2030.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim Minister, Hon. Dr. E. Ndlovu today chaired an inter-ministerial committee meeting on the construction of 35 new schools across the country's 10 provinces. The shool construction programme is being funded by Treasury to the tune of ZWL$4.49 billion. Members of the committee include the Ministries of Finance and Economic Development, Local Government and Public Works, National Housing and Social Amenities, Energy and Power Development, Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development and Defence and War Veterans Affairs among others.

As we commemorate 2022, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim is leaving no stone unturned in advancing gender equality in and through education. Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim has suspended without pay all officials within the Ministry who have not reported for duty since the opening of schools on the 7th of February. The suspension is for a period of three months.

French ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr. Laurent Chevallier paid a courtesy call on Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim Minister, Hon. Dr. E. Ndlovu and exchanged views on Zimbabwe-France relations and bilateral cooperation on education. The possibility of an MOU being signed to formalise the cooperation was also discussed.

Today Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education- MopseZim Minister, Hon. Dr. E. Ndlovu received a donation of a 100000 cloth face masks from the Biomedical Research and Training Institute (BRTI) for distribution to disadvantaged learners across the country. Hon. Ndlovu expressed her heartfelt appreciation to BRTI, which was represented by its Administrator Tendai Muchena, for the timely donation.

While it could be a once off life achievement for some schools to scoop the Secretary's Merit Award, Gloag High School has done it for the third time and walked away with $1.3m courtesy of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. Mrs T. Thabela, the Permanent Secretary for the respective Ministry officiated at the grand occasion as she underscored the competence based curriculum today.
