Let's wrap up the year with knowledge, growth, and success! ππ
Common mistakes when making PINE GEL:
- Using too much or too little caustic soda. Caustic soda is a strong alkali that reacts with pine oil to form soap. If the amount of caustic soda is too high, the pine gel will be too harsh and may damage the surfaces or irritate the skin. If the amount of caustic soda is too low, the pine gel will not form properly and may be too watery or separate into layers.
- Not mixing the ingredients well. The ingredients of pine gel need to be mixed thoroughly and evenly to form a smooth and homogeneous gel. If the mixing is not done well, the pine gel may have lumps, bubbles, or streaks of different colours or textures.
- Not storing the pine gel properly. Pine gel should be stored in a cool, dry, and dark place to prevent it from spoiling or losing its effectiveness. Exposure to heat, light, or moisture may cause the pine gel to change colour, smell, or consistency. Pine gel should also be stored in a sealed container to prevent contamination or evaporation.
To avoid these mistakes, it is important to follow the correct formulation and procedure for making pine gel. Join our last Detergent masterclass of the Year this Saturday and learn how to make the perfect pine gel! Whatsapp us to register or visit our shop!
Common mistakes made when manufacturing dishwashing liquid:
Using the wrong type or amount of surfactants can affect the quality, performance, and safety of the product. For example, using too much surfactants can cause excessive foaming, skin irritation, or environmental damage.
Using too little surfactants can result in poor cleaning, greasy residue, or bacterial growth. Choosing the wrong type of surfactant can also affect the stability, viscosity, and pH of the product.
For example, using anionic surfactants, such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) or sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), can cause the product to separate or become too thin. Using non-ionic surfactants, such as alcohol ethoxylates, can cause the product to become too thick or cloudy.
The optimal type and amount of surfactants depend on the desired properties, cost, and environmental impact of the product.
