Get it right beloved
Can Black Stone or Activated Charcoal Help in a Snakebite?
The answer is NO! and here’s why:
Some people believe that placing a black stone on a snakebite will draw out venom. This is a myth. Once venom enters the body, it quickly spreads through the lymphatic system. No stone, herb, or substance applied to the skin can pull it back out. The black stone simply has no effect on venom.
Activated charcoal is another common misconception. While it is sometimes used in cases of poison ingestion (because it can absorb toxins in the stomach before they enter the bloodstream), it has no role in snakebite treatment. Venom does not enter the stomach and charcoal is not absorbed into the body, it simply passes out in stool.
So why do some people claim these remedies work? In many cases, the bite may have been from a non venomous snake or from a species with only mild venom, meaning the person would have survived regardless of the treatment. This creates the illusion that the stone or charcoal “saved” them.
The truth is, the only proven treatment for serious snake envenomation is antivenom administered by trained medical professionals.
If you or someone else is bitten by a snake, do not waste time with black stones, charcoal, or other remedies. Get to a health facility immediately, where doctors can provide the right treatment based on your symptoms.

Should You Carry the Snake to the Hospital After a Bite?
It is not necessary to capture or bring the snake that bit someone. Attempting to hunt or kill the snake wastes valuable time and increases the risk of additional bites.
At the hospital, doctors do not need the snake itself to provide treatment. They will assess the patient’s symptoms and treat according to the type of venom effect observed, whether cytotoxic, neurotoxic, or hemotoxic.
