‎The leader of the United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia party, Charles Chanda, has announced he is taking over the welfare of a family whose mother was k!lled by a m@b in Kalumbila.

‎The woman, Eneless Hellen Kamutumbe, a resident of Chingola, d!ed after being attacked in Kalumbila district. The circumstances surrounding the m@b att@ck are still being investigated by police.

Mr. Chanda has engaged the family and outlined a series of personal commitments to support them.
‎
‎In a statement, he said he has offered employment to the deceased’s first-born daughter. He explained that the job is meant to give the young woman stability and a way to support her younger siblings.
‎
‎Mr. Chanda also confirmed he has taken over the family’s rental payments for the next twelve months. He said this is to ensure they do not lose their home while they are still grieving.
‎
‎He said he will provide the family with a plot of land and will build them a house in a location of their choosing.
‎
‎“This woman d!ed in a painful way,” Mr. Chanda said. “Her children are now alone. We cannot just leave them. We must show them that even in their pain, they are not forgotten.”
‎
‎He added that the help is not for politics but out of humanity. He urged other well-wishers to also come forward to support the bereaved family.
‎
‎Police in Kalumbila have confirmed that an investigation into the mob killing is ongoing. 259 arrests have been announced at this time.
