Good morning MD, I would like to have a discussion and see what the masses think about this:
*Cost of being a choir in UCZ/choir development*
I feel it's expensive to be a choir member in our church. At the beginning of a year one must prepare the newly introduced K100 - synod offering and K50 rededication (already paying two church memberships, why can't it be one?) then comes the festivals which have become so expensive besides the preparations cost and others I still need to pay another K30+ per person to sing in every festival yet the festival never produce a single coin to motivate the group's. A UCZ festival may have 14 choirs attend with full packed spectators but always diclare a loss but interdinomination festivals may have 5 choirs but they still pay something to winning choirs. As I conclude, as we compile financial reports at the end of each year we realize 100 thousands spent but zero development (assets) for the choir.
I love being a choir and I love festivals for music development but something is not being done right, indigenous members are dodging costs, in the end we have to bombasa. (NB we pay for poached members but if we pay for those indigenous dodging members then all of our members will stop contributing as well)
