CHRIST MY GOOD SHEPHERD Finacial literacy is the bedrock of any successful business venture.

As a businessman and founder of Congruous Enterprises Financial Services, I understand the importance of sound financial decision-making. This belief extends beyond the boardroom, which is why I am also a vocal advocate for financial education targeting children, youths and adults with an aim of making every Zambian financial educated.

💡 Happy International Women’s Day! 💡

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women in finance and business. Women are not just managing households—they are building enterprises, driving economies, and shaping the future of financial empowerment.

Financial literacy is not just knowledge; it’s power. When women are financially educated, they make informed decisions, create opportunities, and uplift entire communities.

Let’s continue to support, educate, and empower women to take control of their financial future. Together, we can build a financially independent and prosperous society.

The Key to Investing: Focus on What Matters Most at the Start
When you first begin investing, there’s an important principle to understand: your contributions matter more than investment growth in the early stages.

Think of it like planting a seed. At first, the water and care you provide (your contributions) make the biggest difference. The seed won’t grow much on its own without your effort.

For example, if you invest K100 and it grows by 10%, you earn just K10. But if you contribute another K100 yourself, you’ve instantly doubled your investment—far more than what growth alone could achieve.

Over time, this dynamic shifts. Once your investment grows large enough, its returns become more powerful than the money you add. Picture that small tree after many years—it now produces fruit and seeds on its own, requiring much less from you.

For instance, if you have K10,000 invested and it grows by 10%, you earn K1,000—possibly more than you could contribute in a single month.

This is why starting early is crucial for young Zambian investors. The longer your money has to grow, the more it works for you, rather than you working for it.

So in the beginning, focus on saving and investing as much as possible. Over time, your investments will take over and do the heavy lifting for you. credit Lusaka Stock Exchange Insights Bank of Zambia
