A Call for Accountability and Representation in Kawama Ward
As a concerned citizen of Kawama Ward, I find it deeply troubling that our community has been without a duly elected Councilor for such a long time. Around 2023, reports emerged that our Councilor was involved in a forgery scandal which led to his arrest and subsequent removal from office. Naturally, one would have expected that a by-election be held to restore representation and ensure our voices continue to be heard.
However, to this day, no by election has taken place. This has left the people of Kawama Ward without proper representation, a voice in the council chambers to speak on our behalf, advocate for our needs, and push for meaningful development. Our challenges, which should have been addressed through our local leadership structures, have instead become stories of the past history with no one to champion their resolution.
This situation raises serious questions about accountability, governance, and the value placed on the democratic rights of the people of Kawama. Every ward deserves representation. Every citizen deserves a voice. It is time we, the people of Kawama, are given the opportunity to choose a leader who will serve with integrity, transparency, and commitment to the welfare of our community.
I speak not out of criticism, but out of genuine concern and hope hope that Kawama can once again be represented with dignity and purpose. Our people deserve better, and it is time action is taken to restore leadership in our ward.

In my honest submission, what concerns me deeply is how some individuals in leadership positions behave not as true leaders, but as mere politicians. There is a clear and critical difference between the two. A politician often seeks power, popularity, and personal survival, while a leader seeks purpose, service, and long-term impact. A politician speaks to be liked; a leader speaks to be truthful, even when itās uncomfortable. Politics, at its core, is the process through which power and resources are distributed, but leadership is about how that power is exercised with wisdom, humility, and integrity. A true leader listens more than they speak, makes decisions with the next generation in mind, and understands that the role is not to be served, but to serve. We must stop glorifying those who manipulate politics for self-interest and start holding space for leaders who build, unite, and lead by example. Because while politics may control the moment, leadership is what shapes a nationās destiny.

Hereās what life has taught me: Strength isnāt noise. Itās not reacting to everything. Itās knowing when to speak, when to move, and when to simply keep your peace.
We all face pressure, emotionally, mentally, even spiritually. But losing control doesnāt solve anything. In fact, the more intense life gets, the more discipline you need.
So protect your mind. Donāt let chaos make you lose your character. Clarity, composure, and purpose, thatās real strength.
Stay grounded. Stay focused. And most of all, stay you.š
