Exodus back to Zimbabwe but this time around there is ZIMRA at the gates into "Canaan".

Am trying to imagine what would have happened if ZIMRA was there during the biblical Exodus.

Those beds they were using in Egypt would remain on entry into Canaan.

I have been in the border this afternoon. Re-inspection section is quite busy. I have also noticed quite a number of school going children in the passengers indicating that most of those in some of these buses could be mothers and children avoiding the threats in South Africa and coming back ahead of the June 30 deadline.

The truck queues at the Machipanda border into Zimbabwe at Forbes can stretch for up to 8km. Accidents are quite frequent as truckers jostle for space along the queue. I also noticed a huge traffic police presence.

This is one of the three detours between Masvingo and Rutenga. The detour is dusty and drivers have to exercise caution.
