Our Story
Feel the heartbeat of Africa at the Safari Lodge in the breathless Eastern Cape. Only forty minutes east of Port Elizabeth in the Greater Addo area is this exciting lodge on 7200ha Amakhala Game Reserve, a successful conservation project which has seen the reintroduction of elephant, rhino, giraffe, cheetah, zebra, buffalo, lion and many antelope species. This is the home to great African mammals, birds and insects. It will humble and fascinate you.
Tucked away in indigenous bush, this intimate thatched lodge with its unique safari huts offers all the comforts of a graded four star lodge. Canvas drop blinds open up the safari huts to views of a small waterhole where monkeys come to play and antelope and zebra to quench their thirst. You can soak away the heat in a luxurious double bath with the sights and sounds of nature or splash off the dust in an outdoor shower.
In the evening the haunting sound of the kudu horn being blown will beckon you to the fireside, to share your day’s adventure. Enjoy award winning wine and local cuisine, safari style, under a magnificent canopy of stars.
