❗FUN TECH FACT: Emojis were born in 1999, 27 years ago! ✨👌💥🤩😱🥺❤️

⭐ Before emojis came to exist, we had plain text. Kurita noticed that messages felt cold, unclear, and easy to misunderstand.

⭐ He designed emojis to add emotion, make messages quicker to understand and to replace long explanations with simple visuals.

⭐ He created 176 simple, blocky emojis that were 12x12 pixel images.
They included things like weather icons, basic emotions and symbols, like hearts and arrows.

⭐ THEY WERE NOT MEANT TO BE CUTE - They were meant to be efficient communication tools.
The CUTE style came later as smartphones evolved.

⭐ These emojis were originally used in Japan and then companies like Apple adapted emojis to their iPhones.

Who is Eugene Roshal?

Eugene Roshal (Евгений Рошаль) is a Russian programmer, born in 1972, widely recognized for creating the RAR compression format and the well-known WinRAR archiving tool. He developed the RAR algorithm in 1993 at just 21 years old, and released its first public version two years later in 1995, marking a major milestone in file compression technology.

Working independently, Roshal demonstrated exceptional skill by building a highly efficient and dependable compression system that rivaled and in many ways outperformed solutions developed by large, resource-rich companies. His work has had a lasting impact, with RAR remaining one of the most widely used compression formats worldwide.
