So that you are touching the tail area becomes normal to your dog - get your dog used to you slowly sliding your hands from top of neck all the way down the back, and then gently clasping the tail against the hindquarters. It is amazing what a difference this gentle stroke and gentle clasping can make.

MYTH – FEEDING RAW MEAT PLACES YOUR PET AT RISK OF SALMONELLA

Generally, your dog or cat’s digestive system can easily handle bacteria in the gut without a problem. With Respect to the COVID 19 Lockdown Period


Simply Vets discontinued offering regular conventional emergency services from 1st February 2020.

We continue to support all holistic and alternative medicine urgencies and emergencies. This will continue during the lockdown period.

For regular consultations, medicine and food sales, we need to make a few changes to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.

We have been urged by our Veterinary Council only to offer essential and necessary procedures. For this reason, all elective operations including basic dentals, sterilisations and cosmetic surgeries will not be performed. Only life saving procedures as well as major health issues will be addressed as urgencies. All cancer treatments, Vitamin C drips, acupuncture and holistic treatments and appointments will continue. Where possible we will conduct telephonic appointments (not for drips or acupuncture).

We will be shortening our open office work hours to the following from Monday the 30th.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 08h30 to 12h30. For appointments please phone 044 3431730.

This week we will be open till 17h30 on Thursday, but closed Friday and Saturday.

Please place all medication and food orders by telephone. When collecting, please adhere to COVID 19 recommendations, by keeping a 2-meter distance where possible. Disinfect hands before and after hand over of goods or pets for treatment. Only 1 healthy person to accompany their pet for treatments or consultation.

We plan to continue our fortnightly raw food delivery for pre-arranged orders to Blackwaters Clinic in Knysna. Next delivery date 8th April.

We wish our customers a safe and pleasant time during this lockdown, and trust that all will be well.
