Race for your sweetie! A quick dash across the beach for the kids where your friendly NSRI volunteer will be waiting on the finish line to reward all runners with a sweetie. R5 entry fee per child. Runs will be arranged in heats according to age groups.

The countdown has begun for the next beach festival and look at some of the prizes and giveaways!

Part of the festival this year, is a beach cleanup the day before. Help us keep our beautiful beaches clean. See you there!

Join us at Myoli Beach on Friday 21 December for fun & festivities for the whole family!

Closing in on the summer months in South Africa, this week we will focus on the various pristine beaches Greater Knysna has to offer.
We start with Brenton-on-Sea Beach which locals claim is one of the most wonderful beaches on the globe.
Brenton-on-sea lies right on the other side of the Knysna Western Heads and with its spectacular views and breath-taking sunsets this Knysna beach is something to be admired and experienced. There are rocks to clamber on, little pools to cool off in and a long bay for beach walks.
A big rock formation, castle Rock, is a favourite fishing spot for locals.
The long, enjoyable 7km walk along Brenton-on-Sea to Buffalo Bay is very popular amongst locals and tourists.
Here you will find fabulous spots for a quick bite to eat, ice cream or thirst quenching refreshment.
Please note any ocean is dynamic and often unpredictable by nature so caution needs to be exercised at all times. Always heed warning notices, swim between demarcating beacons and obey lifeguards.

SEDGEFIELD NEWS - The annual Slow Fun Run and Beach Festival will once again be hosted by the Sedgefield branch of Knysna Tourism, Sotheby’s Sedgefield and Misfits Studio taking place on Myoli Beach December 22rd Sedgefield’s 5th Beach Festival.
This year we welcome Twizza on board to add some colour and fun to the day.
Misfit Studio will be co-ordinating this year’s 5km Slow fun run which will this year again be held along two of the five beaches Sedgefield has to offer. Last year the race started with Miss South Africa Demi Leigh Nel Peters (Now Miss Universe) this year we welcome another celebrity to open the run, WWE professional wrestler Justin Gabriel.
We ask for a R10 entry fee for children and R20 for adults. As with all the activities planned in the programme, these entries and proceeds will go to The National Sea Rescue Institute of South Africa.
The Fun Run will be followed by the Sotheby’s amateur fun sand-sculpting competition. The theme this year being Santa Workshop. Entries R100 for up to 4 people in a team and will be available at Sedgefield Tourism Office, Cycleworx and Sotheby’s Sedgefield.
This competition is great fun and an interactive way for families to get creative and connect," said Belinda Hobson, Knysna Tourism, Sedgefield manager.
Sotheby's will once again organise the Beach Treasure Hunt that promises to delight the little ones as usual. "The treasure hunt has always proved to be a very spirited affair in past," concluded Hobson. Entry R10 per child. The day will end with the popular egg toss at an entry fee of R10.
All proceeds will go to The National Sea Rescue Institute of South Africa.

As in previous years, this year's festival offers fabulous prizes received from the many generous previous as well as new sponsors. If you would like to sponsor or contribute to this Charity Event please e mail [email protected].
