We are a small family-owned coffee roastery in Sedgefield and we are very grateful for our local support. We thank each one of you for buying our coffee during this uncertain time.

We roast single origin green coffee beans from Africa, mainly Rwanda and Burundi, because this allows the coffee drinker the opportunity to know a country through its coffee.

We are offering a free delivery on all coffee orders to your door in Sedgefield.
Our prices are as follows:
250g beans / ground : R70
500g beans / ground : R130
1kg beans / ground : R230

Hi all,
We have taken the decision to trade, this Saturday, at the Wild Oats Community Farmer's Market. I understand that many are very concerned and unhappy with the decision to keep the market open, but our courageous owners, have consulted with the department of Health in the Garden Route and thrown out a lifeline to all us stall holders, especially when it is your only source of income. We will be operating under the strictest hygiene protocols by wearing gloves, sanitizing all surfaces and having wipes and sanitizer on hand for all our customers to use. Our coffee drinks are prepared for takeaway as well as our freshly roasted packs of coffee beans. If any of our customers would like to place their orders ahead of time in order to eliminate their time spent at the market, please message or WhatsApp Shaun and Heidi on 0761916103. This will help greatly when ordering our packs of coffee beans which we grind per order should you need it.. This week, Shaun has roasted our single origin Burundi beans.
Price of beans:
1kg = R220
500g = R120
250g = R65.

Espresso Oh Espresso! You wonderful thing, so often abused and misun derstood!
It seems that many people do not understand what an espresso is and what it shoud look and taste like. In recent time we had a few incidents where we served an espresso only to be asked "Why is it so little coffee?"

A real (single) Espresso is very close to 30ml in quantity (28-32ml). Less than 25 ml it is a Ristretto and more than 32 it starts to become an Espresso Lungo!

An Espresso is a highly concentrated coffee made in a short period of time (approx 30 seconds). The coffee itself will be dark in colour and should be covered by lovely golden brown "Crema"

The taste can vary depending on the blend of coffee used but should be creamy in mouthfeel with medium acidity and a pleasant after taste.

It should be served in small 60ml cup to cater for a double shot.

A Real espresso can only be made using fairly expensive sophisticated equipment that can deliver water at a consistent 92deg C at a pressure of around 9bar.

There is much more to be said and many factors that will influence the quality of your espresso but this is enough for now! Enjoy
