Dear Hill College Learners, Alumni, parents past and present. We are very sad to inform you that Mr Johan Reyneke, after a very short illness, passed away this afternoon (he was diagnosed on Wednesday with stage 4 cancer). He will be sorely missed by all, and may he rest in peace. Please keep his family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time. Farewell to a true maths master - you will be missed.

The last of our superheroes unfortunately got called on a mission to find our Minister of Education, due to missing her original Sunday briefing on the re-opening of schools. Mission successful - briefed the country today (lucky was not Kryptonite). This superhero has been absorbing and metabolizing solar energy to keep up with his team of Superheroes - who together have ensured The Hill College - is ready and waiting. All that is now needed are are SUPER STUDENTS to fill the college with their laughter and positivism for their futures - Hill College's Principal - Rodney Pettitt, and his full superhero TEAM look forward to welcoming our learners back. www.hillcollege.co.za

As all are aware there has been much discussion on the readiness of schools for the return of their learners. The health & safety of our learners and staff is of primary importance to us. Here is what a ready school looks like (very much transformed from before lock-down). From arrival, to reception, corridor shield, new teaching areas & spaced classes. This lady is renown for her superhuman strength in keeping control when computer crashes and viruses are blamed if non delivery of tasks. She is the first at college, and one of the last to leave, thanks to her stamina, durability, and agility powers. When in a rush, can also fly at great speeds, well beyond the sound barrier it is rumored A wizard around the keyboard, Office and programming, our own CAT specialist and Captain Marvel - Mrs Rolene Pettitt. (Who will be tomorrows Hill Superhero?)

DAY: 10/11 HILL COLLEGE - COVID-19 Count down to our return. Our Super Hero Staff are all ready & waiting. This man is well known for untangling the webs of numbers that trap many a student. He uses his super power of being able to sense when learners are struggling; uses agility to turn a sum onto its head so that learners can understand it. He is our own mathematician Spider man - Mr Johan Reyneke. (Who will be tomorrows Hill Superhero?)

This lady is the creator behind the scenes of all of our superheroes - using her power of invisibility to move around undetected. Super speed used when it comes to issuing business tasks; but her most powerful ability - Shape shifting, not only her own, but that of her colleagues. A new lady to our staff, willing and talented who happily took over the mantle of our isiXhosa specialist. A multi talented lady - who knows how to manage CAT learners & challenge them to reach greater heights. A mother to all, our very own Shuri - Ms Ntosh Mpofu (Who will be tomorrows Hill Superhero?)

A lady who is always in the know, applies a unique teaching style - especially when it comes to the Taal. A lady who loves a good adventure, happy to listen to stories to find the holy grail that works for each learner. Need to travel, visit the pyramids, deep hidden jungles, or just the Eiffel tower - just study tourism to understand the icons of the world. A lady who takes no prisoners, leaves nobody behind, our own Lara Croft - Mrs Karen Becker. (Who will be tomorrows Hill Superhero?)

DAY: 7 HILL COLLEGE - COVID-19 Count down to our return. Our Super Hero Staff are all ready & waiting. A man of the science, passionate and sincere - hopefully part of the team advising the President. Known for using Atomic Blasts - to propel scientific laws and knowledge in the direction of his students. Atomic Absorption - in listening to stories for homework not being that would challenge the very core of scientific logic. But probably his most developed power - that of Atomic Manipulation - being able to transform learners knowledge and understanding of science from a trickle to a full flow of force fields. Our very own Doctor Atom - Dr Raj Kurup. (Who will be tomorrows Hill Superhero?)

DAY: 6 HILL COLLEGE - COVID-19 Count down to our return. Our Super Hero Staff are all ready & waiting. A lady of the sciences - understanding genetics, cells, body organs and plant life are her specialized talents. Known to have exceptional agility & athletic ability - especially around her loyal steeds. Utilizes advanced weaponry including microscopes, scalpels & "Widow's Bite" class tests capable of stunning students who have not studied for their life sciences tests. An experienced biologist of many years experience - Mrs Chantal Wicht. (Who will be tomorrows Hill Superhero?)
