IRONMAN South Africa 🇿🇦 2022! How exciting for us to be back out and give it our very best CHEER!

We love #ironman and so grateful for the support from Ironman 4 the Kidz South Africa…so of course we made a special effort to motivate the amazing #teamorange charity athletes!

But such an inspirational day. Just seeing all the athletes doing such a heroic job no matter the conditions was wonderful for us. Well done to all who took part, we hope you saw us along the way and that the kids enthusiasm gave a much needed boost!

Let’s go Ironman, let’s go! 👏👏👏

Thank you Collegiate Girls' High School for the beautiful visit from the Student Christian Organisation - this was so special!

Our Student Christian Organisation spent this past Wednesday afternoon at the Maranatha Youth Center, in Gqeberha. A literal song and dance, teaching about the Fruits of the Spirit, kept everyone entertained. This was followed by fun and games, and lots of snacks. We look forward to our next visit!

We are SO excited and grateful that Aquarius Swim School are able to teach our youngsters to swim again! 👏

They have supported us since we first got our children ‘Iron Kids’ ready 10 years ago now 💪 and now our youngest children do not just learn to be water safe & overcome any fear, but with the amazing program of can become super swimmers in their own right!

They will be having lessons every weekend - the start of BRILLIANT things to come 🏊‍♂️ ! Their faces say it all 🙏 !

What special moments at our youth centre!

You know Summerbreezz SUPERSPAR sponsor a party for ALL of our kids, including a BEAUTIFUL personalised cake, snacks & cool drink 💛

For many of our new kids it is the first such party they experience…and WOW, isn’t it a special occasion for them!

Thank you for making such moments possible 🎂

Well this is what it’s all about! Our ambassador Etienne Vermaak (Mr Petite Teen South Africa) coming with much needed donations along with beautiful cup cakes and cool drink (and special birthday gifts for surprised boys!) to enjoy in the sun ☀️

Truly part of our Maranatha family and the boys gave a few special dances to mark the occasion…because the weekend vibe kicked in very quickly with our awesome kids! 💛

2022 here we go! Onwards and upwards - thrilled to have supporters like this! 👏

Second part of our KFC ice cream outing! 🎉

This week it was the boys learning how to make their own…but no one had to be taught how to enjoy it! 🍦

The smiles say it all!

The team were such wonderful hosts for our kids, so much excitement - what a fantastic atmosphere, our boys also loved dancing for the staff!

Thank you ! These moments mean so much 💛

Well let’s share some good news!

With all the matric results we heard the positive news that one of our old girls who visited us recently achieved an excellent matric bachelors pass with distinctions 👏👏👏

Not only that but our oldest girl at the centre passed her Level 4 with a great result at college that leads to her progressing to diploma level studies in hospitality & catering 🎉🎉🎉

Let’s hear it for the girls…! ⭐️

What a way to round off our first week back to school!

KFC invited our kids for ice cream to cool down in this heat ☀️

Not only that they were also able to learn how to make it for themselves 👏

The team were singing & dancing for our kids and today our girls returned the favour with songs of their own…!

It’ll be the boys turn next week 💛

Kicking off the year as we mean to go on and having so much FUN! 🍦 Thank you for this sweet treat! 🎉

It’s been a busy week at our youth centre!

Our kids and young people attend 12 different educational establishments…from pre-primary through to university! 💛

It has been a time of sorting out stationery, covering books, filling in forms, attending to uniforms & ensuring our children get the support they need as many of them also transition to different schools & classes, or even start at crèche for the first time…! 🤯

One highlight of the week. Our youngest boys all so excited for their first pre-school days! 📚

We always ensure we prioritise education and are so grateful to all those who take our hands and invest in the lives of the future generation 🙏

Legends of Sleepy Hollow!

We launched 2022 of our independent living program with a Young Men’s Empowerment & Spiritual Development Camp at the incredible Sleepy Hollow, Campsite

It’s just wonderful for us to create such opportunities for our older teens & young adults…as well as the adventures of camp topics covered included expressing emotions, anger management, gender based violence awareness & advocacy, building support networks and self-future identity

So phenomenal to be able to let these young males connect with nature, grow spiritually and engage in such topics within such a stunning environment…because when we connect with nature, we plant seeds for life!

What a weekend. What an experience. They are so blessed! 🙏

What an INCREDIBLE ‘day at the museum’ thanks to the amazing team at Bayworld PE!

If we talk about then this is just the most perfect attraction for kids young and old!

The reactions were just beautiful…our children learnt so much, the exhibitions were just wonderful, amazing wildlife experiences and an opportunity to see the feeding of penguins & seals! 🦭

Our kids met many new animal friends and loved every minute of it!

THANK YOU - our kids will be talking about this day for a long time to come! 💛

What a day of unforgettable moments! Incredible!

Hugely thankful to Kragga Kamma Game Park who welcomed our Maranatha kids today!

A self-drive of note where we saw everything from giraffes, to zebras, a rhino and beautiful big cats! So many animals our kids recognised from the lion king now seen in real life in the most STUNNING surroundings!

We also took part in the forest walk across the suspension bridge (our kids were all very brave!) and enjoyed a picnic by the play area…these are the kind of memories that will last forever!

Thank you - we will never forget it!

Photos from Maranatha Siyakatala Youth Centre's post 07/01/2022

Our children really had an AMAZING day!

Thanks SO much to Sanccob EC for organising an incredible programme for our kids!

They had a super interactive lesson about penguins, got to see them first hand and view the feeding, explore the discovery room and then take it to the beach for an exciting seashore scavenger hunt!

This kind of experience is just phenomenal. So impressive to see the work of SANCCOB in action and allowing our children this opportunity!

The photo memories say it all…!

Wow! What a beautiful way for our kids to spend the first day of 2022! So blessed to have a potjie - with dumplings & roosterkoek (of course!) - that they all enjoyed along with our fantastic child & youth care workers! A great way to come together and start the year as we mean to go on…happiness lives here 💛

Harrison Nash singing Come Fly With Me at Maranatha

Our Programme Manager Harrison Dax Nash shared a song today for our New Years show which all the kids and residents enjoyed! Come Fly With Me! ✈️

You know we wanted to mark our New Years and see in 2022 in the best possible way!

Our kids & residents joined us as management for a special event for the occasion!

As well as our devotional and motivational message, we also had singing, dancing and so much JOY as our kids took to the ‘stage’ in our ‘work in progress’ new hall outside the front of our centre!

The team at Maranatha and especially Dr Trudi Basson, Albie Basson and Harrison Nash want to ensure all our supporters recieve our blessings for the year ahead…and we hope you’ll continue to walk the path with us for the next year to come!

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength 🙏 (Isiah 40:31)

Happy New Years to you all!

Party packs, crackers, party poppers & whistles, singing, dance routines and all accompanied by our youth centre family coming together for a special braai…actually, too full to even attempt the dessert! Many kids experienced their first Christmas at Maranatha - and they’ll certainly never forget it 💛
