Orientation of our first ever Grade 8 and 9s at Kgomotso High School will take place as planned this upcoming Saturday at Kgomotso High School Official Hall, this is historic for us as we prepare the newbees for this life of High School right away from Primary School, this transition should not be taken for granted as it comes with many challenges such as fear of the unknown, bullying, new curriculum, new teachers, age gap between newbees and Grade 12s, this needs counseling on its own!
We will do our best to make them settle well by preparing them now so that as they enter the festive season they know Kgomotso High School awaits them and loves them.
This Orientation will also include new 141 Grade 10s and 9 Grade 11s as they also need preparations.
The Programme will start at 9h00 and will end with some fun games at 12:30.
Registrations will be done by 2022 Class Reps and All Brand Ambassadors of KHS such as Miss Freshette,Miss KHS, Miss Heritage, RCL Deputy President, etc.
The programme will cover the following topics.
Official Welcoming by Principal
School Values,Code of Good Conduct, Vision and Mission, Anti Bullying policy, hygiene, building a good testimonial,Uniform, Extra Mural activities programmes, pass requirements, SBA policy, textbook retrieval systems, support systems,Subject choices/changes,etc.
Then learners will take a tour around the school.
Learners must be on casual clothing and be accompanied by one parent/guardian/caregiver.
Good morning Class of 2022, this is the day the Lord has made. The majority of Grade 12s are completing their NSC Exams today and we take this opportunity to thank God for saving you to this day. To many of you,it wasn't an easy road travelled, you chose the path and walked it with chest out. Many fell along the road and you stayed, many gave up and you gave it your best shot. We have fought with you for we knew the importance of having that certificate. Yesterday the Unemployment rate stats were released and about 50% of people with matric and less are unemployment compared to graduates at 10 %. This shows your road to economic freedom is far from over, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours as you embark on tertiary education. The results will only be released on the 20th January 2022 and between now and then please take good care of yourself, continue to respect your parents and teachers. It is very painful now when our former learners come and ask for testimonials and no teacher wants to help them because of their conduct or when completed it is a negative testimonial that won't get you a job or bursary.
We have no control over you but we advice you to stay away from so-called Pens Down money making schemes as many of them end up in tears(Remember the Enyobeni Tarven tradegy),rather organise yourself with people you know and get a safe place in your parents places and celebrate this freedom, then you know everyone around you, there has been bad cases of alcohol spiking and r**e that follow these events.
On behalf of the School Management, SGB,parents, staff and lower grades we wish you all the best and look forward to that breaking news next year when KHS will be on news, trending and going viral for the right reasons as you break the over than 7 years underperformance status.
Morena boloka Kgomotso High School,God bless Kgomotso High School, God seen Kgomotso High School,Nkosi sikelel' Kgomotso High School.
Good evening class,we humbly make an appeal to your good selves that you do not destroy your uniform when you finish writing and rather do a good course and donate it to the school or other learners you know. That will be speaking to the value of Ubuntu as adopted by the school. From shoes, skirts, jerseys, tunics, socks, etc please drop them off in the principal's office🙏
You are your child's first teacher.
Parent, there are basics that you MUST teach.
No thank you.
Teach your children how to address others with respect. It will not happen by itself.
These are nightmares for teachers.
They walk into a class without knocking on the door, without greeting.
Teach your children that its impolite to sit in a classroom full of learners and everyone must listen to them pulling up snot. Teach them about handkerchiefs or provide them with tissues or toilet roll.
These children become adults and they still do not know how to do this.
If you allow your child to pick up the broom half an hour after you instructed him to do so, or instructs him five times to sweep the stoep, he comes to school and expects his teacher to also wait for when he wants to carry out an instruction. Your child does not understand why his teacher only speak once and expects action and at home he is allowed to do it after whatever he is now watching on tv, ends. Teach your child about "Now". Spend time and focus on teaching these things.
These are just some of the irritations teachers have to battle with.
Summer break is coming up soon. Try to focus on these. It will not happen in one day. It takes practice.
Call me a**l or old school or whatever.
I don't compromise on these when it comes to educating children.
I'm impatient and completely unapologetic about them. And if you don't teach them at home, I enforce them at school.
Parenting is fun.
Make teaching your children the basics enjoyable experiences.
The dividends thereof can be blissful.

Dear Uniform Suppliers and designers, local and national
As part of our project to rebrand, rejuvenate and reposition our school,we have identified school uniform as part of that project.
In terms of the Competition Act of South Africa regarding school uniforms,no single supplier must have monopoly over the supply of a school, all suppliers must be given an opportunity to present their samples to the school governing body, relevant committee and management to decide. This will enable free competition and reduce unfair discrimination, and allow lower prices to benefit parents.
We are hereby inviting all local and national suppliers to get the designs from the school between now and the 30th November 2022.
We are pressed with time in order to give parents prices on time to prepare for 2023.
Closing date is on the 3rd December as the Committee must present final products to the Budget & Annual Gener Meeting to be held on the 4th December 2022.
Designers must communicate directly with the Teacher Liaison Officer who will communicate with the relevant committees. Please respect this line of communication to avoid confusions.
Wishing you all the best and looking forward to working with you .

The Northern Cape Department of Education is busy finalising the placement of unplaced learners who applied during the admission period of 23 May to 20 June 2022.
The Department received a total 52280 applications from 20968 unique learners for Grade R (18816), Grade 1 (5371) and Grade 8 (28093). To date 20182 learners have been placed with 786 unplaced learners.

7 POWERFUL STUDY TIPS 💚🌱📚
1. Break your learning up into manageable sections. This will help
your brain to focus. Take short breaks between studying one section and going onto the next.
2. Have all your materials ready before you begin studying a section – pencils, pens, highlighters, paper, glass of water, etc.
3. Be positive. It helps your brain hold on to the information.
4. Your brain learns well with colours and pictures. Try to use them whenever you can.
5. Repetition is the key to remembering information you have to learn. Keep going over the work until you can recall it with ease.
6. Teach what you are learning to anyone who will listen. It is definitely worth reading your revision notes aloud.
7. Sleeping for at least eight hours every night, eating healthy food and drinking plenty of water are all important things you need to do for your brain.
Studying for exams is like exercise, so you must be prepared physically as well as mentally.

Staff, Parents, Caregivers and learners.
Note that, new Developments on the Tour are as follows:
Postponed to the 04th October 2022(During School Holidays)
Not 27th August anymore.
Reasons for postponement are, by cut off date 24 August 2022 only 50 learners paid, below the average target.
Out of the 50 learners, only 10 are participants in different sporting codes. Therefore it defeates a purpose Sports and Educational Tour.
After meeting relevant stakeholders, a collective decision was made to postponed not to call off the tour.
The Tour will strictly be an Educational to accommodate tourism learners.
Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.
Be the Emblem
There is this impact, positive of course, that the Mercedes Benz, Ferrari,BMW emblem does that is not always given the credit it deserves. When people talk about Benz they talk about its fast engine and its sleek designs, its interior technology and comforts. However very few of us will appreciate that without the emblem we won't recognise a Benz.
There are such people in our organisations, family and governments.
At Kgomotso High School,we have such. He might not want me to say it out loud for fear of reprieve and sabotage but I won't wait to say it at his graveside when he cannot hear me. He walks slow,he drives slow,he speak eloqontly,he is humbled and have a heart of a Benz Emblem.
Everytime people praise me for turning things around at KHS,for bringing life to the idle engine,I smile and walk away like a Benz Engine that they don't know nothing. You don't know that you wouldn't know my engine capacity if I had no Emblem.
This Emblem value is underrated because it doesn't come as Benz Extras but is standard.
Today when the Advert Video for our Annual Miss Kgomotso High School 2022/23 was unleashed to the public, all I could say was, this man doesn't seize to amaze me. He is misunderstood by many for being too forward but that's what emblems do,they introduce the brand and keep it alive.
To our Emblem, Mr Emman King Mocumi , our Teacher Liaison Officer, the first History teacher at Kgomotso High School (@ 1992 buildings) buti, seatla godimo ga se Senger, Kgomotso is great again because of your efforts and your love for the African child is unmatched. If this post makes more enemies for you, those enemies are my enemies too.
Let the house stand up and wish you well in health and wealth. Let the world know that amongst the thorns in the education fraternity,we have a rose in you.
As for tomorrow's event, you guys have outdone yourselves, you have responded to what the engine always ask you to do,Add Value, up the game,up the standards and never settle for less.
What will KHS be without you,our Emblem?
We love you Chief Organiser and on behalf of the Staff and Parents re a re 'nko ya kgomo, mogala, tshwara thata e se re go utlwa sebodu wa kgaoga'
Dear parents, guardians, caregivers and learners.

Then the whole Grade 10s will be on Wednesday 10th August.
We take this time to thank all parents, learners and staff of Kgomotso High School for standing their ground in the best interest of the African child.
As teachers we have resolved also that we will extend our school day to 15:15 from next week Wednesday in order to cover the three days lost. We therefore ask parents to make provision for learner transport.
We will have Extra Classes for all Grade 10 learners on Saturdays also starting 20th August. This Recovery Plan will run until the 16th September.

Good morning learners, parents, guardians and caregivers.
Today is the last day of the Winter School Holidays and tomorrow it's Day 1 of 47 days of Term 3. For Grade 12s it's 33 days towards the First Day of Preparatory Exams that will start on the 5th September with the Final Paper of LO.
We are unfortunately unable to return our Grade 10s as planned as the department has dismally failed to deliver Mobile Classes as promised, therefore Group 1 learners will start tomorrow. We will be vigorously engaging the department this week and if we don't succeed, we will have to take drastic measures.
We hereby encourage parents to ensure no child misses a single day without a valid reason.
Please ensure that their uniform is proper for the term.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are for formal wear, no learner will be allowed tomorrow wearing golf shirts or trackpants or tekkies.
Learners with outstanding SBA tasks will not be resulted until they submit all their tasks. Parents are urged to study the child's reports and report any irregularity, technology sometimes deal with learners output marks and we rely on you to also do thorough study of their reports, listen to your child when they raise concerns(missing marks, teachers not teaching, being bullied, etc) and raise them with the class teachers.
This Term as usual we will host our Top Ten Achievers Assembly on the 1st August. The Awards are used as a positive motivation to encourage Excellence as one of the adopted values.
Applications for Grade 8 and 10 will close on the 29th July 2022 and no late applications will be entertained until February 2023. We have started with our 2023 Plans and we must have correct numbers to buy books, furniture and profiling of teachers.
Parents Meetings will start this upcoming Sunday, 24th July at 11h30 to 13h00 for all Grade 12s with their parents and on the 31st August same time for Grade 10s and 11s(without learners). Letters will be distributed during the course if the week indicating the Agendas mainly being Results Analysis and SBA Completeness, Learner Conduct and Consequence Management , Extra Mural Activities Reports.
We are ready to take KHS to her glory self. Be part of the moving train, be there to wake the Giraffe or forever hold your peace.
