*"LEAVING THE PAST BEHIND: EMBARKING ON A NEW JOURNEY"*OF NEW YEAR 2026

Text: Philippians 3:13-14 - "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

Beloved, as we stand at the threshold of a new year, we're reminded that our journey with God is a continuous pursuit of growth, transformation, and purpose. The Apostle Paul's words in Philippians 3:13-14 challenge us to leave the past behind and press on toward the goal.

Leaving the Past Behind

1. Forget the Past: Paul says, "Forgetting what is behind..." (Philippians 3:13). We must release the burdens, hurts, and mistakes of the past to move forward.
2. Release Guilt and Shame: Isaiah 43:25 says, "I, even I, am he who blazons out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more." God forgives and forgets; let's do the same.
3. Let Go of Regrets: Ecclesiastes 3:6 says, "A time to tear and a time to mend, a time to keep silence and a time to speak." Let go of what can't be changed and focus on what can be done.

Starting the Journey

1. New Beginnings: 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" Every new year brings new opportunities and a fresh start.
2. God's Plans: Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust God's plans and purposes.
3. Press On: Hebrews 12:1-2 says, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."

Practical Steps

1. Reflect and Repent: Take time to reflect on the past year and repent of any sins or mistakes.
2. Set Goals: Set spiritual, personal, and relational goals for the new year.
3. Seek Accountability: Share your goals with a trusted friend or mentor and ask for accountability.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of a new year. Help us to leave the past behind and press on toward the goal. Give us the strength to forget the past, release guilt and shame, and let go of regrets. Guide us as we start this new journey, and may we trust Your plans and purposes. In Jesus' name, Amen.

FINISHING WELL AND RUNNING TO THE MARK*

Hebrews 12:1-2, 2 Timothy 4:7-8, Philippians 3:13-14

As we come to the end of another year, we are reminded of the importance of finishing well. We are called to run the race with perseverance, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

The Apostle Paul wrote, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)

Finishing well means staying focused, committed, and determined. It means pressing on towards the goal, forgetting what is behind, and straining towards what is ahead.

UNDERSTANDING KINGDOM PRINCIPLES.

MESSAGE TITLE: THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF KNOWLEDGE.
Key Verse: Proverbs 11:9b (NKJV) – “But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.”
In the Kingdom of God, knowledge is a principle that unlocks freedom, dominion, and spiritual advancement. It is not just head information but revelation understanding of God, His Word, and His ways. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Notice, it doesn’t say lack of prayer, worship, or fasting—but knowledge. You cannot rise beyond what you know in the Kingdom.
Jesus taught that truth sets people free (John 8:32)—but it’s the truth you know. That means revelation brings transformation. Many believers suffer, stagnate, or miss destiny not because God is unfaithful, but because they lack understanding of Kingdom principles, spiritual laws, and covenant privileges. Ignorance is not humility—it is bo***ge. That’s why God’s Word must dwell richly in you (Colossians 3:16).
Knowledge in the Kingdom must be both spiritual and practical. Spiritual knowledge teaches us who God is, who we are in Christ, and how to live righteously. Practical knowledge teaches us how to manage resources, relationships, time, and assignments. Daniel said, “The people who know their God shall be strong and do exploits” (Daniel 11:32b). That’s power through intimacy and insight.
Kingdom advancement is impossible without growing in knowledge. That’s why Paul kept praying for believers to be “filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding” (Colossians 1:9). When you grow in knowledge, you stop guessing and start operating in discernment. You know what God wants, when, and how. That kind of understanding separates you in life.
Make it a daily goal to pursue Kingdom knowledge through study, meditation, anointed teachings, mentorship, and the help of the Holy Spirit. Don’t settle for shallow knowledge—go deep in scripture, doctrine, and truth. In the Kingdom, your next level is often tied to your next revelation. The more you know, the more accurately you live, serve, give, pray, and walk in victory.
Benefits of Applying This Principle:
• Deliverance from deception, stagnation, and spiritual bo***ge
• Boldness in decision-making and divine direction
• Access to deeper spiritual truths and Kingdom mysteries
• Growth in wisdom, discernment, and maturity
• Empowerment to do exploits and fulfill your calling
PRAYER:
Father, I thank You for the gift of knowledge. Deliver me from every form of ignorance, and fill me with spiritual understanding. Open my eyes to see Your truth and empower me to walk in it daily. Let me grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ, and may that knowledge transform my life for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
