Join the Rainbow Christmas Drive to bring cheer to those in need!

With the festive season fast approaching, several LGBTIQ+ groups, with the support of Mahindra South Africa, are embarking on a campaign to bring joy to underprivileged and vulnerable South Africans.

The Rainbow Christmas Drive, in conjunction with Gay World Foundation, Pink Loerie Foundation, Etc-zone Centurion, and driven by Mahindra South Africa, is set to kick off on the 1st of December 2022.

The initiative will distribute donated non-perishable food products, previously loved and new clothing, personal hygiene products, and 350 children’s gift packs to a range of beneficiaries such as LGBTIQ+ shelters in Cape Town, soup kitchens and children’s homes in Cape Town and Knysna. The donations will be transported in a Mahindra Scorpio S11 kindly on loan from Mahindra South Africa in support of the cause.

Corporates, members of the LGBTIQ+ community and allies are encouraged to collect non-perishable food, personal hygiene products (male and female, including much-needed adult diapers), and other items from colleagues, friends, and family. They can then contact [email protected] for the donations to be collected no later than the 12th of December 2022. All goods will be delivered to the beneficiaries by the 24th of December 2022.

Every donation of R200 or more will stand a chance of winning a framed 1,2m x 1,5m original charcoal, pastel, watercolour acrylic, and collage work by celebrated South African artist Colbert Mashile which was donated to the foundation. Painted in 2016, the purchase price was R53,000. (The fee for shipping the artwork from Johannesburg is not included).

As you may know, the marginalised LGBTQIA+ community cares for many causes, over and above its own.

We are currently planning a Gallery Auction on (date to be confirmed) and are requesting assistance with donations of:

Gift hampers;
Vouchers – gift, accommodation, spa treatments etc;
Tea sets;
Paintings;
Antique Furniture including ball and claw furniture or any antique furniture, for that matter and
Services – web development, social media, printing and public relations.

We are interested in anything that you may want to pass along!

We appeal to you for the donation of at least one item or service so that we can initiate vital, life-giving funds into our organisations and events as we rely heavily on sponsorship and donations from the public and corporate sectors to do so.

Any donated items remaining after the Gallery Auction will be made available for purchase, for one week following the main event.

As a gesture of thanks, we offer you brand exposure via our social media platforms and website, and branding at our events and pop-up stores.

KNYSNA NEEDS YOUR VOTE!

Knysna has been nominated in the category Best Dorpie in this year’s Kfm Best of the Cape Awards. “Now we are asking everyone to vote for our town so that we may win this title and put it to good use,” said Executive Mayor Levael Davis.

“Times have been tough in our town. Business in general, and the tourism industry in particular, took a hard knock after the 2017 fires and the national lockdown that followed shortly thereafter,” he said. “Because of the hard work of our residents, things are looking up throughout the greater Knysna municipal area. We are slowly, but surely, seeing the return of visitors as life returns to something a bit more normal.”

“Kfm is the Cape’s biggest commercial radio station with more than 1,1 million listeners tuning in across the province and, thanks to online streaming, the whole of South Africa. Let’s tell them all that Knysna is the Best Dorpie,” he said. “They are all potential guests in our accommodation establishments, diners in our restaurants, shoppers at our retailers or investors in our area.”

“All you have to do is visit www.kfm.co.za and follow the easy instructions, or follow Kfm on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter,” he concluded. “You can also vote for the fine local establishments that have been nominated in other categories but, the key is, we have to vote!”

Congratulations to all the nominees from within the greater Knysna municipal area. They are:
Knysna (Best Dorpie)
Knysna Gin (Best Local Craft Gin)
Myoli Beach Lodge (Best Guest House)

Press Release
For Immediate Release: 28 June 2022

Legal action begins against government and individuals as we establish a new shadow government

We are South Africans has, since 2007, warned of the corruption that became State Capture and even though one billion rand of tax payer money has been spent on investigating the corruption, it is a known fact that corruption continues in government and state-owned entities such as Eskom.

We have all watched in disgust as we have been plagued by constant black outs, the failure in all spheres of our government as well as the racial and religious division that government, political parties and its policies have implemented in order to continue the process of “State Capture” under a different guise. Unacceptable high crime, communities that are piles of trash and sewerage and unemployed, hungry people are the brand image of the South African Government and their failed policies, the absolute embarrassment of the world. Their utter and dismal failure to not only uphold our Constitution but their absolute inability not to steal is no longer a matter of conscience but a matter of fearing for ones’ life because of the criminal, terrorist and extremist nature of the South African Government.

The only efforts our spineless government has made on these issues is talk shops, barbaric inhumane statements and to continue feeding the fat faces of their families with more cream while millions starve in this country. The government is doing ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING to mitigate the corruption, high unemployment and crime South Africans are subjected to. No criminal action has or ever will be taken against implicated individuals in more commission reports than libraries can hold. No attempts have been made to self-correct the very corrupt and criminal activities that have and still are taking place in government. Those that believe the hand of any of our politicians will actually solve it are suffering from severe Stockholm Syndrome and should seek mental help. There is even talk of amnesty for those implicated while all South Africans have to endure the political circus that is our collective political leadership.

With this said, our organization has no choice but to take a very hard stance against government, political parties and those who support and fund this very unregulated and criminal enterprise that has plagued South Africa for generations under the guise of a government.

We will be establishing a shadow government, which will comprise experts in the same fields as government and legal structures to take mass legal action on all spheres of government, tackle the constitutionality of our minerals, energy and environmental policies as well as criminally prosecuting politicians and political party leaders in their individual capacities for the damage and destruction they have caused to South Africa and South Africans.

Our level of engagement with the People of South Africa will simplify the process of PROPER community engagement on all levels of government and getting consensus and agreement among all our people on policies and processes established by our experts WITH OR WITHOUT government.

This initiative will be funded through a Social Justice Fund managed by our organization and will be transparently accounted for PUBLICLY.

It is our absolute intention to engage the government in courts, on the streets and across every single village, township, town and city across the length and breadth of South Africa until they listen to the people and conform to building the country rather than self-enriching themselves.

We urge people and businesses to make a choice of conscience by trusting our organization as they have in the last 14 years to implement this very important social justice initiative that will legally change the trajectory of our country.

The time for accountability is NOW.
