Howick Bowling Club News: week ending 5th November.

The league results for round 5 were once again disappointing with only 1 win out of 4 matches. The ladies lost 2-11 at home to West, men’s premier side lost 1-12 away at Maritzburg, men’s 1st side at home ,in the only club win of the day, beat West 8-5 in a close run match which went down to a count-out to decide who won the overall bonus. Men’s third side, also at home to West, lost 2.5-10.5. League has now reached the halfway point, with the remaining matches to be played early in the New Year.

The Scottish Leader tournament was played on Friday and the winners were Colleen , Des and Dave, with Ray and Bruce in 2nd place and Peter, Mike and Doreen third.

Club Activities: The last event of October will be sponsored by The Black Olive and will be played on Tuesday at 1 30 pm.

The first of the November competitions will be played on Friday 10th and will be sponsored by Scottish Leader. Please support our loyal sponsors where ever possible.

The club mixed drawn fours competition is to be played on Saturday 4th of November, may be postponed, due to lack of support, until a later date. Entry forms are still on the notice board and all members are encouraged to enter.

You are reminded once more that club subscriptions are now due. Please contact the treasurer and arrange payment.

Social Bowls: every Tuesday morning, tabs in 8 15 am and Thursday afternoon, tabs in 1 30 pm, dress casual. Saturday afternoon, tabs in 1 30 pm, dress white. Nominated tab official for Saturday will be Des Smith.

Visitors and prospective new members to our club are always welcome.

Coaching: available on Monday afternoons at 2 30 pm, contact Dennis or Alan at the club.
