What a great day

Todays trail run went off very smoothly and enjoyed by all, supported by 106 runners. The MTB race tomorrow is going to be even more spectacular...not to be missed !

A couple pictures of the 40&70 km routes this morning. All marked. Lots of white lime so little chance of baboon sabotaging the signs and markers!

Things are looking good at for the races this weekend.... weather is looking great - see you all at the !!!!

All Kingfisher Mtb competitors note the following:
The start is in Bergplaas. Not at the school. It finishes at the school. Drive 8km past Hoekwil on the tar. It will be well marked. It's starts at 8am. The start is a 500m warmup ride from the registration. Ample parking,registration and coffee will be at the WOODVILLE cafe. For a small fee there will be a car shuttle service available.

It may be more admin but you are getting the best race route possible. No boring out and back. No single track start congestion. It's given me the chance to give you the most amazing ride with some beautiful new sections. New contoured roads with epic downhills. Belting fast descents. Good surfaces and open roads. Not so steep that you are killing your brakes.

Bring you neighbors, your friends and kids. Your wallets and all the bikes. Support the little school. Without you the school can't keep going forward.

All kingfisher Trailrun competitors note the following:
Both the trail runs start near Bergplaas. Farm trucks ferry runners to the start. There's no private parking. It's on private ground. It starts 4:30 pm sharp. That last truck will leave 4:10. A delayed start will make a dark finish which is dangerous.
That's all you need to know. The rest will be announced at the start. So....Late=👎🙅🏼

All the competitors doing the mtb or trail run will enjoy parts or all of the new trails built on Oakhurst farm for the Oakhurst Farm Cottages. Willi has come from Germany to help built new trail. Willi and his team of 3-5 guys have clocked up 4000 hours over the past 5 months building trails, berms bridges and a pump track. So come and take part this weekend to enjoy what's on offer. That and the epic routes in Bergplaas will make this a very worthwhile race.

For the mtb'ers.... remember the reg and start is at the Bergplaas turnoff. 8km past Hoekwil. On the tar. All properly marked. A car shuttle to get cars back to the finish at the school. Or else get dropped off. This change means it's. I longer an out and back. So that means better riding and routes in Bergplaas. The 40&70km riders can look forward to some lovely fast new sections. Super long good surfaced descents. Big smiles.

For the Kingfisher trailrunners...
The 8km will be a snitch over at 8,5km with 125m ascent. Virtually all singletrack.
The 16km route comes in 1km short at 15km, with 228m ascent. OUTSTANDING new freshly cut manicured indigenous forest trails. You won't get the chance again to run these trails (unless you stay at Oakhurst Farm Cottages!) as they are all on private land. Don't miss out.

We finished building a massive new piece of pristine trail on Oakhurst. It's going to tie in nicely for the Kingfisher. It's now had its 1st big rains so will start to firm up.
Remember it's on private land, so enter the Kingfisher to get a chance to ride it. Or stay at Oakhurst Farm Cottages and access all the private trails.
