👉🏼 Identifying our emotions, naming them, observing them, welcoming them without judgment is healthy, they have a message to pass on.
🙏🏻 You are not your emotion(s) and be aware not to become your emotion (the depressed person, the arrogant, the angry, the difficult one…).
🤓 If you feel you have been stuck with an emotion for a long time, there might be underlying trauma; then consider consulting a professional.

☑️ Imaginez un océan, cet océan, c'est vous. Les vagues, qui vont et viennent, représentent vos émotions.
☑️ Vous n'êtes pas vos émotions, comme les vagues ne sont pas l'océan.
☑️ Selon vos origines, votre vie sociale, vos croyances, votre religion, vous vivez les émotions différemment. Vous vous sentez vivant en ressentant ces émotions. Elles jouent un rôle important dans la manière dont vous communiquez avec le monde extérieur et dont les autres vous perçoivent.
👉🏼 Les émotions sont une réaction chimique dans votre corps, elles sont là pour vous protéger, vous garder en sécurité. Encore une fois, une émotion est quelque chose qui vous arrive, cette émotion ne vous définit pas.
👉🏼 La façon dont vous gérez vos émotions est le reflet de la régulation de votre système nerveux (un mécanisme de survie). Elles persévéreront si vous ignorez ou niez leur importance.
👉🏼 Identifier vos émotions, les nommer, les observer, les accueillir sans les juger est sain, elles ont un message à transmettre.
🙏 Vous n'êtes pas votre émotion et soyez conscient de ne pas devenir celle-ci (la personne déprimée, l'arrogant, le colérique, le difficile...).
🤓 Si vous avez l'impression d'être coincé avec une émotion depuis longtemps, de ne pas réussir à la gérer et/ou de vous en défaire, il se peut qu'il existe un ou plusieurs traumatismes sous-jacents; envisagez alors de consulter un professionnel.

Ever heard of the vagus nerve ? It plays such an important role in our body.
THE VAGUS NERVE
⠀
A seemingly never-ending branching nerve that connects most of our major organs to our brain 🧠.
⠀
It’s the longest cranial nerve in our body, one for the right side and one for the left. And is largely responsible for the connection for its role as a mediator between thinking and feeling, you know our “gut feeling.”
⠀
The vagus nerve is the “queen” of the parasympathetic nervous system. The “rest and digest” or the nerve. So the more we do things to activate the nerve (like deep ), the most we combat the effects of its opposer, the sympathetic nervous system - the “fight or flight”, rushing around, have to do something, releasing one.

A few other functions of the vagus nerve, just to name a few:
▪️slows your heart rate and respiration.
▪️lowers blood pressure.
▪️helps with calmness and relaxation.
▪️controls involuntary muscles in the digestive system, therefore, aiding digestion.
▪️taste sensation.
▪️movement function for the muscles in the neck responsible for swallowing and speech.
▪️gut-brain communication.
▪️reduces inflammation.

Although acupuncture is widely used for chronic pain, there remains considerable controversy as to its value - so this study sought to investigate!
And ...... acupuncture was superior to both sham and no-acupuncture control for each pain condition. Patients receiving acupuncture had less pain, that was lower than sham controls for back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, and chronic headache.
Acupuncture is effective for the treatment of chronic pain and is therefore a reasonable referral option. Significant differences between true and sham acupuncture indicate that acupuncture is more than a placebo.
