A commissioned monument honouring two of South Africa's most influential historical figures, Jan Smuts and Nelson Mandela.
This heritage piece, measuring approximately 2.2 metres in height, seeks to capture not only likeness, but the legacy, leadership and impact of two men who helped shape the nation's story.
Currently taking form in the studio.

The Male Bust.
A study of strength and character, designed to hold its presence long after the first glance.
Final stage of a bronze sculpture: Patination.
Patination is the final stage in the bronze sculpting process, adding both protection and visual character to the piece.
A patina forms naturally over time through oxidation, creating unique tones and colour variations. It can also be enhanced using chemical treatments, heat, or acids to achieve specific finishes while helping protect the bronze surface.
No two patinas are ever exactly the same, making each sculpture truly one of a kind.
