Soos meeste van julle reeds weet,
Ons pappa, Neels Stander het onlangs siek begin raak en het op 9 Januarie uitgevind dat daar n gewas op sy nier groei.

Pappa is n pensionaris en het nie n medies fonds nie. Ons moes 2 weke wag om n afspraak by George hospitaal te kry vir n CT scan. Die CT scan is gedoen op 24 Januarie en ons het Vrydag 25 Januarie die uitslae gekry.

Met die CT scan die week, het dokters bevestig dat daar gewasse op sy nier, Lewer, maag en limph kliere groei. Hy is n staats pasient en, soos ons almal weet vat prosesse bietjie langer. Hy is geskeduleer vir n kolonoskopie en gastroskopie die 7de Februarie waar dokters sal besluit hoe om voort te gaan met behandeling. Hy sal tot dan geen mediese behandeling ontvang nie, en omrede tyd so groot rol speel, wil ons vir hom so gou as moontlik n mediese suurstof tent koop om in die tussentyd by die huis te gebruik asook n mediese stoel. Die natuurlike produkte wat pappa op die oomblik gebruik kos ook baie geld per week - hierdie goed is nie deur n dokter voorgeskryf nie so dis nie medikasie wat hy verniet kry by die hospitaal nie. Ons as gesin probeer so vêr as moontlik om weg te bly van overcounter en prescription drugs.
