The NQtac kitchen was brimming with excitement and flavor this weekend as our assistant chef students produced lovely Vichyssoise with smoked haddock (leek and potato soup) garnished with crispy buttered potatoes and creamy, rich béchamel sauce.Great job in the kitchen and great to see smiles all around!

What a lovely day in the NQtac kitchen as our assistant chefs had a practical of baking their own baguettes from which they made a grilled pork loin Bahn mi (Vietnamese sandwich with pickled vegetables) served with a powerful and fragrant chimichurri sauce. It was a journey of tastes and well done to every single one of the students for producing such high quality and showing great team work!

Feel like a walk through the Italian countryside?
No need to travel Italy if you have the talent and flavor combinations that were showcased in the NQtac kitchen today! We had a beautiful grilled peach, basil pesto and truffle burrata en cruet, rich Osso buco served with hasselback carrots and gremolata and a delectable white ,chocolate and pistachio tart with espresso cream.It was a truly stunning culinary journey, well done Florence!!

Fantastic week in the NQtac kitchen as our student chefs did novelty cakes! Beautifully creative, fantastic designs and out and out great looking cakes were produced! Finishing a cake like does not sit in everyone’s arsenal.

What a fantastic dessert experience, transported all the way to Europe. We enjoyed creamy, lemon posset with a raspberry consommé, rum baba delicate with a beautiful mascarpone frosting and a delectable clafoutis soft and delicate with strong berry flavours coming through. A great day in the kitchen.

What a great two days in the NQtac kitchen, our students produced fantastic chocolate cakes garnished with intricate chocolate designs and creamy, rich chocolate mousse. Definitely not one to miss out on if you are a chocolate fanatic as I am!

NQtac kitchen was full of beautiful smells; on the menu was a twice-baked cauliflower souffle that was smooth, light and yet still rich and creamy! We also had a lovely crisp coconut prawn dish served with a lime mayonnaise dipping sauce.
It was a practical to remember and to be very proud of!

Mystery basket day at NQtac for our assistant chefs, or as others

would know it summative/final practical:

These aspiring chefs were given nothing but an ingredients list and
the name of the dish that they have to prepare, they were clearly
well prepared. Almost no mistakes on the day and beautiful food
delivered from beef burger with beetroot tzatziki to chocolate
souffle with vanilla ice cream… Well done to all involved!

A lovely prawn bisque (rich prawn soup), that transported you to a small French seaside town, rich, creamy and packed with flavour. Absolutely stunning! Before that, we started the day with an apple and tomato chutney that tasted like grandma made it!

Today our lovely patisserie students made the whole school smell absolutely delicious, with the smell of bread rising and baking and the richness of buttery croissants it was truly difficult to not eat every last bite!

Cinnabon Cinnamon buns who needs to buy cinnamon rolls when you can make them this well!?Today our patisserie students made wonderfully light and decadent cinnamon buns packed with cinnamon flavour and topped with a rich cream cheese icing. Absolutely melt in the mouth! Pita bread Beautifully light with a crisp exterior, the pita breads came out as authentic as they possibly could.
What a Joyful practical in the NQtac kitchen today!
