Schalk Bezuidenhout used to be woke AF (is that what the kids say these days?) What does AF even stand for? Point is: Schalk used to be the liberal guy at the braai. But it's happening more and more that Schalk, and all of us for that matter, has to count his words. It's not like Schalk is against change! Not at all! But in this ever changing world and society, he is just trying to keep up.

Ms du Toit commented on the production by saying: "'The Island' is a drama I particularly like as it is packed full of all the elements essential to a play of this kind. It has humour, it has tragedy, but above all it make a powerful statement about loneliness and jealousy."

Oh what fun we had at our Murder Mystery evening. A night filled with laughter. You should know that our guests was into it when they all started cheering when the murderer was announced. Thank you to each and every person who attended.

Working with someone closely for three months and experiencing the thrill of being on stage in a live theatre, creates incredible bonds between cast members. Rehearsing this week (on our half completed set) are Jade Gardner as the Fairy Godmother and Megan Oates, playing Petal, in the good fairy narrator role.

Kyle Gregory plays Mrs Trott, mother of Jack in our Beanstalk tale. In the tradition of English pantomime, the dame is an 'Over The Top' character used as comic relief and to 'chat' with the audience. This breaking of the traditional role of the audience is what makes panto such fun and different as the audience are encouraged to give ideas to the cast and boo the bad guys! Kyle is an experienced actor who previously entertained George playing the Dame role in Robin Hood.
