Happy Youth Day

Today marks 45 years since the Soweto student uprising of 16 June 1976, where 10,000 students bravely protested for the right to be educated in their own language. In the wake of clashes with the police, and the violence that ensued during the next few weeks, close to 700 hundred people, many of the youth involved, were killed and property destroyed. Today we remember and recognise Charlotte Mannya Maxeke, who contributed to the struggle and who remains an icon of empowerment and success for the youth.

At Africorp Accounting we recognise the pivotal role our youth have to play in realising the vision of those who struggled before them, to reconstruct and develop our society into the rainbow nation it should always have been. We embrace a radiant future and the great responsibility to regard our history with due respect for those who sacrificed dearly for the progress we have made. We wish our youth the patience and resilience to carry the torch handed to them from past heroes with wisdom and to preserve their hard won progress.

"Sometimes, it falls upon a generation to be great. You can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom." - Nelson Mandela

Africorp Accounting celebrates our brave heritage and wishes everyone a carefree youth day!

#SARS is on a drive to audit all non-compliant employers. Employers who have not withheld the accurate tax amount incur #TaxDebt to the South African Revenue Service and frequently find their tax exposures to be exceptionally large.

With the annual employers’ #TaxSeason deadline drawing closer, employers are warned to ensure they submit their company payroll data (#EMP501) before the 31st of May 2021 to avoid a penalty of up to 10% of the year’s PAYE or criminal charges.

Happy Freedom Day | 27 April 2021

On 27 April 1994, our country participated in its first democratic election.

Freedom Day marks the #Liberation of our country and its people from the bo***ge of discrimination and inequality.

Africorp Accounting acknowledges the valuable meaning of this significant day and the fundamental objective of freeing our people from a legacy of injustice.

We are committed to maintain and preserve the peaceful process that our brave liberation leaders started many years ago.

Let us, as a nation, embody this ethos of unity by changing our attitudes and inspiring others to build an unbreakable bond and take exemplary steps for our future generations so that they, too, can look back and see how far we have come as a country.

Happy Freedom Day Mzansi!

In President Cyril Ramaphosa's recent address, he urged all South Africans to not let their guard down, now that the rate of transmission remains stable. We echo the sentiment of our President that "at this time, when the Easter message of hope, rebirth and renewal finds expression in the lives of so many of us, let us please take care."

It is our national responsibility that we remain resilient, restore our #faith, take courage and work together as a society to rebuild our country in an effort to overcome the effects of the current Covid-19 pandemic.

To the people of Christian faith, we celebrate and commemorate the ultimate victory represented by the Holy celebration of the #resurrection and the ratification of the epoch of #grace.

To our Jewish friends, we celebrate your liberation during #Passover.

Our Africorp Accounting family wishes everyone a happy, safe, and blessed Easter long weekend!

Happy Human Rights Day!

Happy Human Rights Day!

Africorp Accounting acknowledges the history and significance of Human Rights Day to all the people of South Africa. We have a deep appreciation of the fact that this day is both a celebration and solemn remembrance of the human rights movement of our citizens.

“Human Rights Day in South Africa is historically linked with 21 March 1960, and the events of Sharpeville. On that day 69 people died and 180 were wounded when police fired on a peaceful crowd that had gathered in protest against the Pass laws. This day marked an affirmation by ordinary people, rising in unison to proclaim their rights. It became an iconic date in our country’s history that today we commemorate as Human Rights Day as a reminder of our rights and the cost paid for our treasured human rights.”
Public Education Office of Parliament

This year’s theme is celebrated as “The year of unity, socio-economic renewal and nation-building.” In celebration of unity, we have commissioned our first Nelson Mandela painting to remind us daily of the ethos we fight to embody as a business.

As a Rainbow Nation, we stand together in unity within our diversity, to advance an equal and fair society. We demonstrate humane responsibility by practising equality, human dignity, freedom of movement, language and culture in our workplace, families and communities in an effort to build our country’s future.

We remember, so we will never repeat our mistakes, and we celebrate our victories of overcoming the legacy of those indignities through daily effort and awareness.

“To deny people their Human Rights, is to challenge their very humanity” – Nelson Mandela.

New Year's Eve | Remembering lives lost

We close this year in solidarity with our President, Cyril Ramaphosa and light a candle in remembrance of the more than 27,000 lives lost in #SouthAfrica due to #Covid19. We mourn for the loss suffered by the affected families.

With this gesture, we thank and celebrate our #FrontlineWorkers who put themselves at risk on a daily basis to ensure that families are reunited with every available medical effort. We thank communities for their cooperation in preventing the spread of the disease by complying with the #Regulations intended to keep us all safe until a #Vaccine becomes available.

This New Year's eve, we celebrate in the safe respite of our homes. We remember and recognise the resilience we have discovered in 2020, in our employees, our partners and clients to keep the world moving forward within the limitations of the unique challenges presented, each silently battling their own fights. Our prayer is that 2021 will be the year of celebration, humble conquering and a year of new and more sustainable beginnings for our suffering planet.

Wishing all South Africans a healthy and prosperous 2021!

On this day in 1995, South Africans came together in unity to reconcile the past in view of a shared future as one nation. All races and cultural groups put aside their differences to form what we now call a Rainbow Nation.

“We understand it still that there is no easy road to freedom. We know it well that none of us acting alone can achieve success. We must therefore act together as a united people, for national reconciliation, for nation-building, for the birth of a new world. Let there be justice for all. Let there be peace for all.” – Nelson Mandela

25 years later, we have come a long way and are celebrating our country’s democracy and the extraordinary achievements we have made along the journey. While we still have many milestones to overcome; let us continue building on the solid foundation and legacy that our leaders have paved for us for a better future.
