We have Raucous Toads, Clicking Stream Frogs and several other freshwater vertebrates in the streams at Highlands Lodge.

1. Check the weather forecast and pack accordingly 🧤, as our cabins are often located in areas with fluctuating temperatures.

2. Bring your hiking boots! 🥾 we have two beautiful trails on the property.

3. If you enjoy birding, pack your binoculars 🦉

4. There is very limited WiFi so pack some entertainment options (e.g., books, cards, games) 📚

5. Cabins are self catering so bring your braai meat and beverages. Regional wines and craft beers can be purchased from Te-piK Deli. 🍷

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 🌱

This beautiful plant grows on the slopes of the valley and is native to the Fynbos Biome.

The flower heads look like a bowl of pink strawberries in March and gradually become drier and more orange in autumn and winter.

Several 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘱𝘩𝘢 species were used medicinally in years gone by, for example to treat jaundice and croup in children.

Cabin 11 is a four sleeper log cabin, perfect for a family getaway.

✔️The cabin has a master bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom with twin beds.

👩🏽‍🍳There’s a lounge and a small self-catering kitchenette. Braai facilities are provided outside the cabin and there’s a spacious deck overlooking the forest and valley.
