Eden Time Trail Champs.
First time trying a Time Trail on the road bike. I was really prepared mentally for this race and I felt good for a all out 25km effort.
Unfortunately my tire deflated halfway through the race to a point that there was just enough pressure to keep me from riding on the rim. Throughout the last half of the race I was consistently batteling the wind to keep my stability and to prevent my tire folding. Fortunately the air that I had left in my tires stayed in long enough that I could finish the race and also take second place.

Overall it was a great day of riding and racing. Well done to all who participated and put up with the windy conditions.

Eden Time Trail p2. Got a flat tire just before halfway through but pushed as much as my tire could hold to finish under 40 minutes.

I'm happy to say I'll be riding for this coming season. Thank you .r_a_cycle.run for the opportunity. I'm looking forward to the season.

Some racing coming up this weekend. And some new things😉

Don't really have photos of the Timbercity/eden champs road race. 104km.
Brutal 36km/h race with restricted gears in the elite bunch. Made an effort to stay with the bunch throughout the whole race and managed to stay with the bunch until the finish.
Final few kilometres I've misjudged the distance left and tried to make a brake for the finish, but absolute depleted my energy in doing so and fell of a bit. Caught up before the finish but couldn't sprint for the line and fell back to a 3rd place.
Enjoyed the overall race and still happy with a 3rd place in Eden.

WP xcm Champs
Rollercoaster of a race this weekend. Got into a good rhythm and position until some problems started to arise. Slid out on one of the trails, crashed into someone and then dropped a chain causing a loss in positions that I was unable to take back.

Nevertheless claimed p8 in my Category and p13 overall, which is a decent result.

How it ends....
Massively intense Crit race to finish off the series. Came down to a "almost" wheel to wheel finish, but unfortunately couldn't up the speed of the final sprint and had to settle for p2🥈 and a well deserved win for

Sadly ending the crit series for this year, but with some new experience and higher limits next year looks to be even tougher.

Starting off the weekend with a very tough race. Didn't quite get my rhythm and struggled bridging the gap to the bunch in front with the intense headwind. After catching some riders I got my rhythm, but unfortunately in the final 10km I struggled with my drivetrain and couldn't keep up with the pace changing up the climbs.
Still managed p6 in my Category nonetheless.

Some lekker hard racing after missing out on the one before. Another comfortable/successful xco checked off this year after some bad luck beforehand.

Tough race in the mud on Sunday. Got some terible rain on the start line but went on nevertheless.
Had a lekker hard race and managed p2 in the weather with in p1 and in 3rd.

Redstone 49km 2022...A very tough race mentally and physically... We experienced rain, wind, mud and cold temperatures constantly throughout the race which made riding very tough...
Close to the finished I started realising that the cold had turned my fingers white and I couldn't feel things easily and I started to panic.
Managed p2 just 2min behind whom I rode with until the last few kilometres.
Thanks to everyone who supported me at the end after all the suffering and helping me back onto my feet.

WP XCO #2 Rheebokskloof

First XCO in a while that went smoothly with no mechanical problems... Really exciting race with steep climbs and technical features as well as the elite bunch that was racing alongside us.

Not the race I was hoping for. Got a snakebite on the rear tire and had to run ro the tech zone to fix it. Then broke a spoke on the next lap and had to stop to fix it. Finished only 4 of the 5 laps but that happens.
Overall it was a fun course with lots of fun technical features and would love to see what happens next time.
