On October 30, 2023, our Grade 12s pupils will be officially commencing their final NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC) examinations. This will be the final leg in their 5 year high school journey and we would like your assistance in making this experience less stressful and more exciting for them.

Traditionally, every year we normally hold a prayer session for them to wish them luck and motivate them to do well in their exams. However, we always hoped that as a school, we can always do more and translate the good wishes and love into something tangible, something they can always carry with them throughout the exam period.

Therefore, we are requesting a donation from your company to help us reach our goal of wishing our Grade 12 pupils good luck and success in their exams. We humbly request that you help sponsor us with the following items for the 260 matric candidates who will sit for these NSC exams this year.

The items include amongst other things:
1. A4 File Pockets Sleeves or Transparent A4 PVC Carry Folders (Clear Document Storage Pouch)
2. Lead pencil
3. Eraser
4. Rubber
5. Ruler
6. Black and Blue Ball pens
8. Math Set 11 Pcs Metal Container for the 176 of our Geography and Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) candidates

Your favourable response will help offset a good start in these matric candidates final exam journey as some can’t even afford some of these essential stationery packages.

A Grade 12 learner (Mawande Ngcongo), hard at work, preparing for her Physical Sciences Preparatory Examination.

The Eskom team also donated a tree 🌳 as we all know that September is the Arbour month – a time to plant trees and pay special attention to our environment and the role trees play in it.

Earlier today, VBHS welcomed a team from Eskom that was lead by Ms. Lungi Zulu, an Eskom Environmentalist. The team came to donate sanitary towels to our girls and spoke about career opportunities available in the energy generation sector.

Mr. Naresh, the Executive Manager at Eskom who was accompanying the team spoke to our girls about ways to save electricity and use it sparingly. He further advised them to pursue a career in the field of Electrical Engineering and Environmental Management.

Today we were visited by a representative of the Department of Health to help concise our learners about health issues.
