My name is Sinazo Nkwenkwe and I am a third year Office Management Technology student at CPUT.

I was sceptical to take the vaccine at first, because I heard many stories and read stories on social media about people who'd claimed to have fallen ill or people who died after taking the vaccine. I was really scared of how I will react after reading these stories, although the vaccine was proven to have been safe and effective. When I started working at the Vaccination Centre about two weeks ago, I'd hear people who were coming for their second dose saying they are fine. Some didn't even have the side effects after taking their first jab, others say they did have the side effects for nothing more that 48 hours though just like any other vaccine. And one said they tested positive for COVID-19 after the first jab but the symptoms weren't bad and they healed quickly. I thought to myself maybe the vaccine is not what most people say it is - it not "bad". Then I decided to go for my first jab of the Pfizer vaccine.



I was fortunate I didn't have any side effects. After taking the vaccine, I was just fine - still am.





I'd like to encourage everyone 18 years and older to take the vaccine because it is effective and would help fight the virus.
