Please assist in identifying this tree/shrub? Thanks
I have white grubs in my garden and I’ve read online that beneficial nematodes is a great natural way of eliminating them. Do we have anything on our South African market like this?
Hi, sorry if this seems weird but is it even possible to buy snake plant seeds?
Good morning, please can you tell me what this flower is called, I've had them in my garden for ages, second time they've flowered. Thank you

Can someone tell me more about this bush?
Starke Ayres was so privileged to be part of the Saxonwold Primary School edible garden named "Tshiamo". It was a heart warming moment to see the appreciation and excitement on the kids faces. Thanks to the Garden Diva who designed and work extremely hard to create this master piece. I want thank our co-sponsors Culterra, Grass Factory, R&J Pots and Fusion Home.

A tip for when you sow or plant tall annuals.

Plant spacing helps to ensure the entire plant receives enough of healthy sunlight.
It is easy for disease to spread from one plant to another if the plants are growing on top of one another, so plants growing too closely together are not as healthy as plants with enough space.

How often do you pinch/harvest your herbs in your gardens?

Did you know pinching plants is to force the plant into a fuller form?
By pinching back, you force the plant to grow twice as many stems, which results in a fuller plant. For plants like herbs, pinching back can help the plant to produce more of their desirable leaves, giving you more to harvest and enjoy in your food.

Dear Garden friends, how are you preparing for your winter and spring garden?

Photos from Garden Diva's post 03/04/2022

I love planting beans to use in bean soup in winter. This is a golden bean, I do not know its name. I am going to make soup with it one of these days. I will save some seeds 😊.

I simply love tulips! It is a pity they do not rebloom and have to be replaced every year. But they are so special that it is worthwhile 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

Lamb's ear- A favorite for growing with kids, the lamb’s ear plant (Stachys byzantina) is sure to please in nearly any garden setting. This easy-care perennial has velvety soft, wooly evergreen leaves that are silver to gray-green in color. The foliage is also similar in shape to that of a real lamb’s ears, hence its name. If left to bloom in summer, lamb’s ear will produce spikes of pink to purple colored flowers too.

Anthericum saundersiae- is a hardy, evergreen, clump forming, grass-like perennial that bears sprays of white flowers and seeds all year round.

Minuartia aurea- Appropriately named, as the small, needle-like leaves could be mistaken for moss. It spreads quickly via creeping runners, forming a dense mat in well-drained soil. In spring, small white flowers dot its surface. It can withstand cold winters.

Erigeron Karvinskianus- is an inexpensive, evergreen diehard that will remain in your garden forever. Once established, it has the ability to pop up all over the garden. Sometimes it takes a rest in warm weather and you end up thinking it has died, only for it to reappear and thrive. If you take good care of it, it will produce masses of tiny daisy flowers, transforming your garden into an exquisite fairy landscape.

For all you Garlic lovers, now is the perfect time to plant your garlic. There is only a small window in the year when you can plant it, don't miss out. 😉
