4 Steps of Reflection
1️⃣ Lectio (Read): Read Acts 8:36 slowly two or three times. Notice which word or phrase catches your attention. Is it "on the road", "here is water", or "what is to prevent me?"
2️⃣ Meditatio (Reflect): Consider the questions many of us carry quietly: What is to prevent me from belonging? What is to prevent me from being fully loved and seen? Where in your life have you encountered invisible lines or conditions around belonging?
3️⃣ Oratio (Pray): Speak openly with God about those questions or barriers. Ask the Spirit to reveal where God is meeting you in your exact, unique story today.
4️⃣ Contemplatio (Rest): Rest in silence for a minute. Let yourself absorb the reality that the Spirit crosses every line, offering a table where belonging is bigger than permission.

Visio Divina Reflection – Acts 8:36

"What is to prevent me from being baptized?"

First Look – Notice (1 minute)
Invite everyone to simply look without trying to interpret.
• What catches your attention first?
• Where do your eyes naturally rest?
• Which color, object, or detail seems to draw you in?

Second Look – Enter the Scene (2 minutes)
Imagine yourself inside the picture.
• Where do you see yourself—in Philip, the Ethiopian Eu**ch, or simply as someone watching?
• What emotions do you notice in the two people sitting together?
• What do you imagine they are saying after the question, “What is to prevent me?”

Third Look – Listen (2 minutes)
Listen for what God might be revealing.
• Which word or phrase from the verse stays with you?
• If Jesus were sitting beside you as Philip sat beside the Eu**ch, what would you want to ask?
• Is there a “boundary” or “line” in your life that God may be inviting you to cross with Him?

Final Look – Respond (2 minutes)
Move toward prayer and action.
• What does belonging look like for you today?
• Where is God inviting you to make room—for yourself or for someone else?
• What is one word you want to carry with you into this week?

Closing Prayer
Spirit of God, who met a traveler on a dusty road, open our eyes to see where You are already at work. Where we have believed there were barriers, reveal Your welcome. Help us leave this moment knowing there is room for us at Your table and courage to make room for others. Amen.

Not everything that happens is good, but God can bring healing, growth, and new beginnings from even the hardest chapters of our lives. Your story is still being written. 🌱
