St. Mary's is a small, co-educational Catholic Primary School situated in the Gardens, Cape Town area, catering for Grades R-7. Mary's Primary School is a small Catholic primary school situated in the city bowl, near the public gardens.
It was founded by the Dominican Sisters in 1863 and has changed considerably over the past 149 years from an exclusive private school for girls to a co-educational state primary school, serving the needs of the wider community and catering for all. Upholding the Catholic Pastoral Plan of "Community serving humanity", St. Mary's continues the proud tradition of excellence, with its Catholic character and its motto "Veritas".

On Friday the learners will be celebrating Africa Day at school. All learners are asked to dress up for the day. Civvies will be R10 as its Blind buddy day as well, please support.

It's with great sadness to the family of St Mary's Primary that we have say farewell to one of our students Sisipho Caga Grade 7 V who tragically died in a car accident with her father, 2 brothers and uncle. Our sincere condolences to Mrs Caga and her extended family on such a huge loss to their family you are in our prayers. Sisipho will be sadly missed by all her classmates, fellow students and teachers.

On behalf of the school, learners and parents we wish to extend our sincere condolences to Mrs Snyder's and her family on the death of her mother.
On Monday, 6 March 2017 learners and teachers shared "Read aloud day". Many learners from Grade R to 7 were dressed in their favourite characters. Some teachers were just as enthusiastic as the learners and dressed up in their favourite characters. Educators exchanged classes for a half hour reading. Learners were super excited.

What an awesome morning. Despite the morning being overcast we had lots of learners and parents. Thanks to the wonderful educators who once again did an excellent job and to those behind the scenes quietly doing there bit to make the morning a success.
