What an exciting evening on Kalk bay harbour.
At 3pm Hayden's first cast and on with the first Chokka. The wall was still empty at that time. Most of the Bosvark Fishing Crew pulled up and so the party started .
As time went by we hooked a few and ended up with much more Than we had got for the two previous nights and left early with enough bait for the next few fishing sessions...

I must say it's nice to see the sport is growing and tonight just showed how many guys are learning many of them for the first time and got some nice sizes... Keep it up now the jig box starts growing....

And not to forget the rod and reel picked up the night before has been returned to its owner.

Good Afternoon everyone.

For those are you that are free tonight we hope to see you all at the strandfontein civic hall @7 pm

It’s about time we as the fishing community take a stand and the city starts considering us in their decisions regarding our heritage fishing grounds

Please put all differences aside and unite, at the end of it all this is the sport we all love and the only way we move forward and improve it for ourselves is if we all stand together

See you all tonight πŸ’ͺπŸ‘

What a way to start the week

We all knew Mondays conditions looked amazing, so most of the guys planned to head to the water- Garth and Josh doing brokens and Dylan and Nardo doing mosquitogat(who knows the real spelling of this ?🀣🀣🀣)

Garth was the first to hit the water and first throw, on, same thing with second throw- both fish being in the 55cm range, of which both was released. Seems like those 2 kobbies went to go get their guardian as the third throw was on, and just like that a solid +-9kg came out. Garth then landed another 2 bossies that was safely released(keep your eyes peeled for the unplanned release video🀣🀣🀣)

Nardo and Dylan at the same time was having a party on mosquitogat with lots of small kobbies being released and the elf playing with their emotion. After being bit off in front of his eyes by a nice elf Dylan landed 2 nice Kobbies after each other measuring 66cm and 61cm!

Nardo was in the same boat, landing plenty of smaller kobbies all of which were released, being played with by the elf and then his luck turned for the better and also landed 2 nice kobbies measuring 65cm and 57cm!!

As you can see, it was a Monday of note

P.S- we will see you all on the chokka grounds with the opening of the season

What a lovely week once again

Wednesday evening Garth joined up with the Hook it Cast & Drone social team on nsri and decided to get a fishing session in. Armed with some nice maasbanker he managed to get a lovely kobbie of 75cm.

The weekend came about and first to hit the water on Saturday was dylan and pops- choosing macs as the area of choice. Bait of choice this time was chokka- which gave him a solid fish weighing in at just under 5kgs- perseverance showing results once again

Then we had uncle Kevin and Wynand up in kleinmond on their anniversary weekend-happy anniversary to you and your wives gentleman. Wynand managed to land a lovely kobbie on some fresh bloodworm. Well done boet.

Later that Saturday evening/Sunday morning Garth and Henry decided to fish gunnery. Henry was pulled absolutely flat but the fish spat the Hook. Garth then went on and landed a kobbie of approximately 65cm.

All round good week for the boys. Let's see what this week ahead gives us.

On on on

It was a all round fun weekend for the Pigs, with lots of in-between missions and meet ups.

Saturday morning Dylan decided to go and hit up biespens, armed with fresh maasbanker and chokka. He decided to give us a very dylan cast that landed just short of seal island and managed to get 3 nice elf after each other in the deep.

Then the Saturday night the boys decided to do a all nighter. Half the crew linked up just before 12 and fished on broken road till 3 before the other half of the crew met up and we moved to arendse road. Most of us decided to fish with livies and the livies gave us one beautiful kob, and the lucky angler that reeled that kob in was none other than Jody. He was still shaking his rod and getting the livey done before his rod just went heavy and he turned around and was on like donkey Kong and landed a lovely 88cm specimen.

It was a all round fun weekend with the boys and we can't wait to do it again.

So

Last week we took part in that lovely arniston derby.

We were all feeling it the Monday still, everyone but Dylan. He pushed through and fished again the Monday considering he was off, showing us what perseverance brings with a absolutely lovely Steenbras of 75cm.

This man is having a amazing season. Dylan, we respect you my brother. We could hardly stand up the Monday let alone fish 🀣

Well done buddy.

Day1 here in Arniston Hayden giving his dad a hiding in not so good conditions but making the best of it.

Photos from Bosvark Fishing Crew's post 26/09/2022

Where to start is the main question

A weekend that was filled with nothing but laughter and good company is a absolute understatement.

This weekend we participated in the annual Arniston derby hosted by Clayton Toll and the team at reel angling adventures.

Fishing conditions weren't that great, but we persevered right through with Garth landing the first fish of the comp- a lekker Gallie that was then chowed on by some seagulls.

Josh then landed a nice Wildeperd of 34cm on his light tackle which made it that much more fun

Nardo along with uncle Kevin, Henry and Grant headed off into the far abyss and Nardo landed a stunning Galjoen of 47cm- they left the Friday and appeared again the Saturday morning.

The Saturday was where all the real fun started- Garth again landing the first fish of the day- a undersized cracker that was safely released followed by a size Das. Josh then followed behind with a Das followed by Antonio with a lovely wildeperd of 38cm- this thing was VET.

We then decided to move spots to what we thought was the far abyss based off our state 🀣🀣🀣but in reality was a solid 50 meters. Dylan landed 2 nice Belman measuring in at 41cm and 48cm.

What we can proudly say is, at no point in time over the 24 hours was there not a bosvark fishing somewhere in arniston.

For this reason- we are proud to say the Bosvark Fishing Crew placed 3rd in the team competition, and our very own captain, Leonardo placed 3rd in the individual competition as well. We are extremely proud of everyone that took part.

We would like to also send a shout out to all the other participants from all the other teams-well done and thank you for making it even greater than what it already was.

Side note- on our way back we made a quick stop by Macs and Dylan landed a undersize Gallie and undersized Steenie that was both successfully released.

This weekend was one that was honestly second to none- the amount of fun had was unbelievable. We left arniston feeling like champions.

On to the next boys, we did amazing πŸ™

What a πŸ— weekend it was for the Pigs.

It started off on Thursday with uncle Steven getting a lovely Kob on a 1/0 hook with red bait! Yes, you read right, red bait.

Then Friday came about, and Garth and Antonio hit the water. There was plenty of bamboo around and the water wasn't in its greatest condition. They fished through this and Garth was well rewarded with a steenbras of 60cm, a Das of 38cm and a Gallie of 36cm.

Then Saturday came about and Hayden and Garth hit the water again, later joined by Josh. This time Hayden was on the money, first landing a undersized Gallie that was safely released. Then all hell broke loose and he got absolutely hammered by what we assume to be a steenbras that broke him off. Then his luck turned and he managed to land his first size Steenie measuring in at 68cm! We couldn't be any prouder of this little man. Garth also managed to land a Gallie of 43cm and a Das of 37cm.

Sunday came about-Taliep and Zahir hit the water, followed by Dylan and Nardo. Dylan managed to land a FAT gallie of 46cm.

Next stop - "The Motherland" Arniston 😏
