Here’s a quick breakdown of the most common types used in construction and renovations across South African Homes & Businesses:
🔹 Raft Foundation – Is a large, reinforced concrete slab that supports a structure directly on the ground. Great for clay-heavy soil and ideal for spreading load across a wide base.
🔹 Pad Foundation – Used for columns or isolated loads, often seen in custom builds or extensions. They are commonly used when soil conditions are good and the loads are not too heavy.
🔹 Strip Foundation – Common in housing developments. Cost-effective and reliable for lighter structures. It provides continuous support for linear structures
