Welcome to your new season of motherhood, Mama💜
There will be a lot to remember once your bundle of joy arrives - and between the feeds, nappies, sleepless nights and getting to know this little person, you may forget a few things about you. So save this one and come back to it when you need it:
🤍 Your recovery matters too. Your baby needs care, but so do you.
🌿 Give your body time. It has carried and delivered a whole human being. Healing is a process.
🫶🏾 Your emotions matter. Postpartum isn't only a physical recovery. Pay attention to how you're feeling, too.
✨ You don't have to “bounce back.” There is no deadline for your body to look or feel a certain way after birth.
🩺 Please keep your postpartum appointment. It's your opportunity to check your recovery and talk about anything from breastfeeding and contraception to your physical and emotional wellbeing.
You may be a new mother, or a mother again; either way, every baby brings a new season. Welcome to yours.
Save this for later or share it with a mama who has just welcomed her little one.

🩸 Dysmenorrhea: When Period Pain Becomes Too Much 🩸
Ladies, dysmenorrhea is that relentless, throbbing pain that radiates through your lower abdomen, back, and thighs. It strikes just before your period, peaks on days 1-2, and fades; but not for everyone.
For some, it’s a brief discomfort. For others, it's a torment that steals days each month. But could there be more than meets the eye? Conditions like endometriosis, adenomyosis, or fibroids might be lurking beneath the surface, making each cycle unbearable.
Treating the cause is the key to dealing with these excruciating period pains.
🔍 Ready to Break Free? Reach out if you experience:
😖 Pain that takes over your life every month.
😵💫 Agony that keeps getting worse over time.
🤯 Newly intense dysmenorrhea as an adult.
🤕 Pain so severe that you feel faint or can't stay conscious.

💜Ladies, here are the three major things that you may be missing by not tracking your cycle...
Tracking your menstrual cycle offers numerous benefits for your health and well-being. Here are three key reasons why you should start today:
1. Predict Fertility Windows: Knowing your cycle helps you identify your most fertile days, which is crucial whether you’re planning to conceive or trying to avoid pregnancy.
2. Monitor Your Health: Regular tracking can reveal patterns and irregularities in your cycle, helping you detect potential health issues early.
3. Manage Symptoms: By keeping track of your symptoms, you can better manage PMS, plan for those tougher days, and discuss any concerns with your gynaecologist.
Stay informed and take charge of your reproductive health. Start tracking your cycle today! Please visit your nearest gynaecologists should you note irregularities with your cycle.

I hear this from my patients constantly: “I'm breastfeeding, so I can't fall pregnant yet, right?” It's one of the oldest myths in postpartum care, and it catches so many new moms off guard.
Here's the truth: your body can start ovulating again before your very first postpartum period arrives; meaning you could conceive before you even have a signal that your fertility is back.
Breastfeeding does offer some natural protection through the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM), but only if you're exclusively breastfeeding, your baby is under 6 months old, and your period hasn't returned.
The moment any one of those changes, so does your risk.
Save this, share it with a mom who needs it, and if you're postpartum, book a check-in so we can talk through what contraception makes sense for you.

World Breastfeeding Week 🤱
Ladies, there is no single way to experience motherhood.
For some mothers, breastfeeding comes naturally. For others, pumping, combination feeding, donor milk, or induced lactation may be part of their journey. And sometimes, the feeding journey looks different from what was originally planned.
What matters is that mothers are supported with accurate information, compassionate care, and without judgement.
As we recognise World Breastfeeding Week, we celebrate every mother navigating feeding in the way that works for her and her baby, because good maternal care isn't about telling women there is only one right way.
It is about helping them make informed choices, feel supported, and know that they are not alone.
Here's to every mama, every journey, and every beautifully different way of mothering.

Hello Ladies 💜
I want to talk about something we don’t discuss nearly enough in postpartum care: maternal mental health. Not because it makes for good content — but because I see it in my rooms, week after week.
Mothers who are exhausted and ashamed of their exhaustion. Mothers who smile through consultations and cry in their cars. This one’s for you.
Swipe through. And if this resonates, please share it; because the mother who needs to see this might not know to look for it. 🤍

Your health is one of the greatest investments you will ever make.
Women’s wellness is more than an annual check-up. It’s understanding your body, listening when something doesn’t feel right, prioritising preventative care, and making informed decisions that support your wellbeing for years to come.
Whether you’re planning a pregnancy, navigating hormonal changes, managing your reproductive health, or simply committing to a healthier lifestyle, every positive step matters.
💗 We’d love to hear from you: What’s one healthy habit you’ve committed to this year? Share it in the comments below—you may inspire another woman to take the first step.
Let’s continue building a community where women feel informed, supported, and empowered to prioritise their health.

“The greatest legacy we can leave is not only in what we achieve, but in how we serve others with compassion, dignity, and purpose.”
Today, we honour the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela; a leader who reminded us that lasting change begins with service, compassion, and a commitment to the wellbeing of others.
As healthcare professionals, we are privileged to serve women and families during some of life’s most significant moments. Every consultation, every birth, every conversation, and every act of care is an opportunity to uphold the dignity and humanity of those we serve.
This Nelson Mandela Day, may we all be inspired to make a meaningful difference in our communities; whether through kindness, generosity, or simply taking the time to care for someone in need.
Together, small acts of service have the power to create lasting impact.
Happy Nelson Mandela Day, South Africa. 🇿🇦
