Hope lives here πŸ•Š
So many of us, myself included, are feeling the weight of the current events. Grateful for these words from Donna Ashworth, which I found really soothing and inspiring. Hope they resonate with you too ❀️

Playfulness in your practice
β€˜We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.’ ~ George Bernard Shaw β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Let’s keep Playing some Qigong, Yoga, and/or whatever forms of movement you enjoy! Happy Monday and have a great week everyone! ❀️

The power of moving slowly
Slowing down is often counter-intuitive in our culture as everybody wants to go fast. But by going fast, we may miss the moments and disperse energy. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € To do the opposite, i.e. to cultivate energy, try moving slowly. Feel the energy and the space around us, notice the breath, notice the feet on the ground. With each breath, feel everything starting to soften. Mind relaxing, tension melting away. This is finding the treasures within ourselves, our inner light ✨ ~ Lee Holden. #qigong #movingmeditation #mindbodyspirit

Qigong to regulate body, breath and mind
How does Qigong help to regulate body, breath and mind? β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € * Body: through an adjustment of body movement and posture. Qigong's body regulation is aimed at relaxation, so the movements are typically gentle and smooth. * Breath: through changes in respiratory movement, rhythm, and pattern. Breath in Qigong needs to be slow, long, and deep. * Mind: involves focusing attention and visualization. Most operations of mind regulation are similar to meditation, so Qigong is also considered a β€˜meditative movement’. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € #miltonkeynesqigong #miltonkeynes

Spinal cord breathing

Why do Yin Yoga? Everyone’s got their own reason; maybe it’s to improve flexibility, maybe it’s to increase the health of their connective tissue, maybe it’s to have some quiet introspective time, and so on… In this video Amanda explained why she was hooked from her very first class. Watch til the end, and if you’d like to π™šπ™π™₯π™šπ™§π™žπ™šπ™£π™˜π™š 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 π™—π™§π™žπ™œπ™π™©π™šπ™§, π™˜π™–π™‘π™’π™šπ™§ π™›π™šπ™šπ™‘π™žπ™£π™œ, read on πŸ˜‰ . So happy to announce that I will start teaching Yin Yoga classes from the comfort of my living room again in September!✨ Sundays: 3-4pm (2 spots left; first-come-first-serve) and 4.30-5.30pm (fully booked). We’ll start on 6th September with a Late Summer practice for the Earth element, leaving you feeling grounded and in harmony with this briefest season 🌻 . A small group of friendly yogis, everyone is welcome, beginners to experienced Yinsters πŸ’• . More info on my website. Mobility challenge
Staying at home: Day 43 Need something to amuse your kids/ yourself? Here’s a little mobility challenge: balancing shoes and rolling around!πŸ˜† ✨ First, try with 1 leg. Then with the opposite leg . Do with both legs. Go faster if you like. ✨ I had a lot of fun, hope you do too if you give this a go. Stay at home, stay active, you got this πŸ‘

Hip mobility sequence
This month in the β€˜Yang’ (more active) classes we’re focusing on Hip Mobility. . Here’s a short clip you can practise in your own time. Werk those hips and glutes!πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ Start with just a few rounds of each movement, move with your breath, and don’t forget to do the second side. Do more as the body gets stronger and more familiar with the sequence. You got this. . If you try this at home, let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy! ❀️

Heart opening flow
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! ❀️Obviously love for a significant other, friends, family, and let’s not forget self-love, should be celebrated everyday... but maybe some of you are having a special celebration? Since it’s all about the heart today, I’m sharing a little clip of our yoga practice yesterday. Bow Pose is a great heart opener, and we added Side Bow too for good measure ❀️ This asana stretches and strengthens the spine and shoulders. The sideways roll gives your belly a good massage. And bonus point: can you hear the giggles? πŸ₯° Luciana Alonso Lenka Kamenikova

Half Bow to strengthen and improve flexibility in the back muscles. More of this in the coming weeks, you’re all amazing! πŸ§˜πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ See you in a couple of weeks πŸ’•
