Edinburgh Tool Library helps the people in our communities save money 💸💞

One of the major ways we do this is through tool borrowing! Did you know by borrowing tools rather than buying them we have saved households an incredible £3 million?! Another way we do this is by running our community workshops such as our Repair Cafe, where our community can repair their broken items rather than replacing them.

These vital aspects of ETL allow the members in our community to save money in increasingly trying times. By donating to our Big Give campaign you can help us to continue to provide these services that help everyone across Edinburgh.

Every donation this week will be matched by Big Give. Thank you for your continued generous support ❤️

It’s Big Give Time! 🥳

For one week only Big will be DOUBLING all donations to support the Edinburgh Tool Library! This means that your support will go twice as far - your £5 donation becomes a £10, and your £50 becomes £100. Please help us reach our goal and shape ETL's next decade of building a shared future without costing the earth!

Here are some of the main things we do that your kind donations support:

🛠️ We share tools, skills, knowledge
🛠️ We fight waste
🛠️ We are inclusive
🛠️ We are open for everyone in our community
🛠️ We work for the community
🛠️ We inspire by showing that alternatives work!

We’re calling for your votes! 💚

We’re delighted our new project, Choose L.I.F.E, has been nominated for ECCAN’s Greenlight Fund alongside many other amazing community initiatives.

💚 What is The Greenlight Fund?
It’s ECCAN’s community climate fund, supporting local projects that help communities across Edinburgh respond to the climate and nature crisis.

💚 What is Choose L.I.F.E?
Leith Improvements For Edinburgh! A new community project that could offer free workshops in Leith using reclaimed materials to improve Edinburgh’s green spaces, build practical skills and engage more people in practical climate action.

💚 Why Vote?
Choose L.I.F.E can only happen with ECCAN’s Greenlight funding. Your vote will make all the difference!

💚 How do I vote?
1. Become a member of ECCAN. It's free and you get to be part of community-led climate action in Edinburgh while supporting your favourite local organisations!

2. VOTE! You must vote for five projects, ranking them in order of preference. Vote here: https://www.eccan.scot/greenlightvoting-2026

Voting closes Fri 10 Jul. Thank you for your continued support of ETL 💚

As the more we share, the more we have!
