সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ ও সমন্বয় করা গেলে হয়তো বাংলাদেশি Optometrist-দের জন্যও সরকারি ব্যবস্থাপনায় অদূর ভবিষ্যতে দেশের পাশাপাশি বিদেশের বিভিন্ন দেশে Health Care Professional হিসেবে কাজ করার সুযোগ সৃষ্টি হতে পারে।
এই বিষয়ে অপ্টোমেট্রি পেশার নেতৃত্বস্থানীয় ব্যক্তিবর্গের কাছে বিষয়টি গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে বিবেচনার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি।

Institute of Community Ophthalmology -ICO এর Senior ও Junior শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত হলো এক জমজমাট প্রীতি ফুটবল ম্যাচ। শুরু থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত আক্রমণ-পাল্টা আক্রমণে ভরপুর ম্যাচটি উপস্থিত সকলকে উপহার দেয় দারুণ উত্তেজনা ও বিনোদন।

রোমাঞ্চকর এই লড়াইয়ে Senior দল ৭-৬ গোলের ব্যবধানে Junior দলকে পরাজিত করে জয় তুলে নেয়।

উভয় দলকে তাদের চমৎকার পারফরম্যান্স ও ক্রীড়াসুলভ মনোভাবের জন্য অভিনন্দন।

Cataract is one of the leading causes of reversible vision loss worldwide. It occurs when the eye's natural lens becomes cloudy, resulting in blurred vision, glare, and difficulty performing daily activities. While spectacles may provide some visual improvement in the early stages, they cannot stop cataract progression. Once the cataract becomes mature and significantly affects vision, surgery is the only effective treatment to restore sight.

Regular eye examinations, early detection, and timely intervention are essential to prevent avoidable vision impairment and improve quality of life.

ছানি (Cataract) বিশ্বব্যাপী প্রতিরোধযোগ্য দৃষ্টিহীনতার অন্যতম প্রধান কারণ। এটি তখন ঘটে যখন চোখের স্বাভাবিক লেন্স ধীরে ধীরে ঘোলা হয়ে যায়, ফলে দৃষ্টি ঝাপসা হয়, আলোতে সমস্যা দেখা দেয় এবং দৈনন্দিন কাজকর্ম ব্যাহত হয়। প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ে চশমা কিছুটা দৃষ্টি সহায়তা দিতে পারে, তবে এটি ছানির অগ্রগতি বন্ধ করতে পারে না। ছানি পরিণত (Mature) পর্যায়ে পৌঁছালে এবং দৃষ্টিশক্তি উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে কমে গেলে দৃষ্টি পুনরুদ্ধারের জন্য সার্জারিই একমাত্র কার্যকর চিকিৎসা।

নিয়মিত চোখ পরীক্ষা, দ্রুত শনাক্তকরণ এবং সময়মতো চিকিৎসা প্রতিরোধযোগ্য দৃষ্টিহানি রোধে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে।
