Jim Thompson - High Score Table - Cignol Remix

Known to many a canny Bandcamp digger through his excellent Lost Acid albums, is a London based producer, skater & designer. His debut vinyl release came last year on Ooz Records, run by .ooz Laurence, an estimable selector based in the excellent Records store in Brixton.

The release caught the attention of System One head D. Howard who followed the trail & found High Score Table, a captivating mid tempo acidic chug with aching pads & an old school charm; exactly the kind of track that needs to be played on vinyl at an after hours…

A conversation began, pints were sunk & the idea was spawned; lets make a killer ep with another Glytek cut, The Hollow Tree, 2 phenomenal new cuts - the muscular sub acidic tweaker Cruiser and Numerology, a late night trippy gem - and 2 remixes including top tier Irish electro don, , who has made some of the finest cuts to grace the System One basement over the last few years.

I am unbelievably proud to announce that we will be working with friends & family of James ‘ReKab’ Baker, the highly regarded British producer who made some of the finest tech-soul, electro & ‘Artificial Intelligence’ style electronic music of recent years, to reissue his first 4 albums. James sadly passed away August 2025 and has been a great loss to the community, his productions on labels such as Distant Worlds, Fourier Transmission, Yore, We’re Going Deep, Moatun 7, Magnonic Signals and Analog Concept were much loved by fans of this music worldwide and all sold out upon release.

Previously, his first 4 albums had only ever been available digitally, initially issued on the Icelandic label Moatun7 and are only currently available on Bandcamp. Now, for the first time, all 4 albums will be issued on vinyl as full length albums, fully remastered by Justin Drake & the digital versions will be once available again on all DSPs worldwide, in association with System One

The first reissue in the series is ‘Analogue Isolation’, to be released March 27th. Written & recorded in 2020 through the Covid lockdown period, the album is a masterclass in pure home listening electronica. Blissful, emotive and melodic with crisp drums, gently pulsing basslines, lush pads and exquisite melodies, Analogue Isolation heralded the arrival of a truly talented producer who enchanted fans of the genre over the coming years

Analogue Isolation will be a limited initial run of 250 copies through all stores worldwide & is available to preorder now at https://systemonerecords.bandcamp.com/ The subsequent albums will be released throughout the remainder of 2026 & will be accompanied in December by a strictly limited hardcase for collectors to house all 4 albums. Meanwhile, all 4 albums will be available on DSPs worldwide from March 27.

Shocked to hear about the very sad passing of James ReKaB Baker, a truly talented man, one of my favourite producers of recent years and in many ways the reason I decided to start this label…

I came across James’ music deep digging on Spotify & fell in love with it. That year, Spotify told me he was my most played artist & I was in his top 1% of fans so I DMd him to say hi. I left social media for a while and literally came back on to DM him ehen his came off Spotify following the untimely passing of the founder of Moàtún. We got chatting, I told him about my industry background & had the idea - why don’t i start a label, press those albums on vinyl for him and help him get the music back out there…

We got to know each other a bit through this summer and I was excited to help in some way get him the recognition he deserved. He had fantastic taste, was super knowledgeable and was very encouraging of my plans - he was even the first to follow this profile. He mailed me last week to say he had the stuff ready & I was on my home home from work to call him yesterday & finalise our plans when I opened instagram and saw the news, i simply couldn’t believe what I was reading…

This could not further from how I imagined my first post celebrating the work of Rekab to be…. but may the spirit of his beautiful music live on forever and I will endeavour to make sure everything we do would have met his high standards & exquisite taste

My deepest & sincerest condolences to his family, friends & loved ones at this very sad time 💔💔 💔
