Another collage of mixed metals! I gathered up an eclectic array of treasures - a silver cheroot holder, two mother of pearl pencils, a claw pendant, and a few watch keys. All dangle from my handmade chains, several woven with old watch chain components.

A while back we inherited a family friend’s fabulous jewelry collection. She spent a lot of time in Mexico during the mid-late 20th century and amassed an amazing bracelet collection featuring many well known artists, including Antonio Pineda (far left bracelet) and Felipe Martinez (far right bracelet).

I have a very useful reference in “The Little Book of Mexican Silver Hallmarks” to guide my research. It’s a fun project. If you have any insights, please feel free to share!

We are planning to part with these sculptural beauties sometime soon. If you’re interested, just send me a dm and I’ll keep you posted when they are available for purchase.

Since it’s a snowy day here in Chicago I thought I’d bring out the 🐧🐧. The top (baby) penguin is actually a compass and the larger one is a rattle. Too cute 😍

Why not let one of these little guys waddle into your ❤️ and jewelry stash? Dm for more details.

And, a special discount if you can answer this question: What is a penguin’s favorite type of lettuce? 🤣

Sharing some hearts and flowers after a little IG hiatus ❤️🌻

It was a very, very slippery morning here in Chicago! Walking a strong, young pup on the hunt for 🐿️🐿️🐿️ on icy streets and sidewalks … not so fun. For the most part, I stayed vertical. 😬🤣

A collection of vintage and antique sterling pencils is a fitting backdrop for a converted vintage Spanish souvenir bracelet featuring the adventures of Don Quixote (and a cameo of Cervantes).

Perfect gifts for any avid reader, writer, or dreamer in your life!

Loving these vintage Sterling heart rattles 😍! They drop from two of my latest handwoven, mixed metal chains - Sterling chainmaille and old watch chain links. Clips and clasps in front let you change out the focal piece, while back clasps let you tweak the length.

A few mixed metal beauties to brighten up your Sunday! Maybe warm it up a bit? Walking the pup this morning was 🥶(but he didn’t seem to mind at all!).

An old watch key, fob and perfume pendant (going left to right) make for an eclectic - just the way I like it😍

This beautiful antique buckle piece will be a beautiful necklace someday (soon).

I feel a green and gold rush coming on 😍. ‘Tis the season.

The lovely little carved ceramic bowl holding the apple green flapper beads (c. 1920) was created by the talented ❤️.

Silver Etruscan Revival charms, made in Italy c. 1930-40, are officially my latest jewelry obsession 😍

I’m in love with all the intricate wire work details and colorful cabochons. I’ve also snuck a few vintage Chinese silver charms into the mix, they all play so well together!

A few 19th century treasures that don’t show their ages one bit! The “Gay Nineties” button has a wonderful mix of cut steel and gilded brass (and that apple green cabochon is 😍). The cut steel starburst charm (from an old buckle) fits right in, dropped from an amber connector.

Just a few beautiful distractions. ❤️✌️

Last week I discovered a stash of vintage, golden heart-shaped lockets, hidden away in a box I packed up when we had to move out of our home last winter (for water damage repair work). So out of the dark and onto a chain they go! 😍

Yes, I still have unopened boxes to sort through. But, I’m a little excited to see what other “out of sight, out of mind” gems I can find!

While I love “traditional” antique adornments such as lockets, fobs and charms, I have a soft spot for offbeat treasures and arrangements. It’s so much fun to experiment with different ideas and designs!

This photo shows off an antique handkerchief holder on a chain I wove in a variation of traditional Japanese chainmaille. I think it’s an unexpected and unusual combo - which means I ❤️❤️❤️ it!

What do you think? 🤔
