একটি ভালোভাবে পরিকল্পিত বাড়ি,
বড় হওয়ার উপর নির্ভর করে না,
বরং প্রতিটি ইঞ্চির স্মার্ট ব্যবহারই আসল বিষয়।

Here you can see how vertical stirrups are tied around the longitudinal bars with regular spacing—this pattern is used to resist shear cracks.

🔩 90° Tie vs. 135° Tie

90° Tie: A right-angle hook, easy to make, used in normal structures. Provides moderate anchorage.

135° Tie: A more closed hook, used in earthquake zones. Gives better grip and prevents bar slip.

👉 135° is stronger and safer for seismic design.

🏗️ Principles of Earthquake-Resistant Design

Ductility
Structures should bend—not break—under seismic loads. This allows buildings to absorb and dissipate energy.

Symmetry and Regularity
Buildings with uniform mass and stiffness distribution perform better during earthquakes.

Lightweight Materials
Reducing the overall mass of the structure minimizes seismic forces (since F=maF=ma).

Strong Foundation
A well-designed and deep foundation reduces risk of differential settlement or collapse.

Proper Load Path
Earthquake forces must travel from the roof → walls → columns → beams → foundation → ground. Discontinuities should be avoided.
