Deepening the transformational process of improvisational movement creating pastel markings to then using the body's tracings to inform large scale paintings. Inviting curiosity and patience into my process like never before. Challenging myself to let go and surrender to the beautiful unknown rather than the fear of imperfection/failure.

This body of mine has been THROUGH it this year. I have had to seek peace, rebuilding and healing through art in ways I have not previously had to do. With the wind in my hair and the grit of dirt on my skin, I find myself collaborating with nature. Its own harmony and dissonance inspiring me and motivating me to experiment and explore without the pressure of answers, perfectionism, or rigid ideas of productivity. Honing in on my instincts once again and preparing for the unfolding of subconscious creativity.

I'm coming back to life after completing my PhD in September! The process was amazing, exhausting, affirming, renewing, encouraging, healing, disrupting, draining, inspiring, consuming, and transforming all at once. I am so grateful for all the support I had during the 3.5 years of deep research on the articulation of female pain through embodied feminist, crip, collaborative artistic practices. I feel a real sense of accomplishment and contribution that I have never felt before. Now, I return to the artistic process and take my research to next levels....with a new appreciation for slowness, patience, stillness, and depth.

The image captures a sense of liminality which is a key aesthetic and conceptual aspect of 'netherness' - a construct and interpretative lens that emerged from my doctoral thesis. This stunning image from evokes a feeling of catharsis and liberation which I feel was a dimension of the new collection of which I will be featuring more imagery from next week! Can't believe I actually made time to post on social media this week, you know I must be inspired.

Gorgeous hand-knit yarn dress for the second performance. This part of the trilogy was about discovery and innovation generated through embodied wisdom. In other words, what can we transform our pain into -- how can we unburden ourselves from our histories in order to champion new frontiers of self, love, connection, creativity? This performance occurred in between the runway shows in Milan's beautiful new venue . Again, beautiful film capturing the true essence and energy of the environment by .

Lisa ( ) and I have worked together on many projects since we encountered one another in Singapore 8 years ago, yet this presentation/performance for felt the most intimate and meaningful by far. We both continue to evolve independently as artists and symbiotically as lifelong collaborators. I am fuelled by her fire and I like to believe she is fuelled by mine. My performance journey, which was interjected over the course of 2 runway shows, took some of the experimentation from my doctoral thesis and brought it to the next level. Words cannot describe the feeling and presence and flow I feel engaged in performance. These incredible images were captured on film by and indulge me if you will, I will share more throughout the week.

The Poetics of becoming Visible.

Collapsing, in a slow tangled twist. Bones and flesh, melting in a pile, on the corner of Sullivan and Spring. It's fine. I'm fine. Reaching upward gracefully, with expediency, towards a place of unravelling. Wringing out the tears of fresh scars. It's fine. Really, I'm fine. Sinking feelings arise, from stabbing anomalies, originating, in the pelvis, surfacing brightly, in my pulsating, left eye. It’s fine. She’s fine. Wearily cycling, into the dawning light, craving the dependability, of the grid. Seeking, distance from flaring wounds. We’re fine. Really, so fine...
