~Escape the Summer Heat and Recharge in Nature~
Located at 2,400m above sea level, where there is still snow remaining even in July, summer experience in Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is different from what it is in a city. You may be exhausted by the summer heat, but here in the Alpine Route, you would still need a jacket, for the average temperature is only 15℃ (59°F) even in summer. Hiking trails and precious little alpine plants and flowers come out of hibernation. Let’s do a 15 minute short walk to the iconic Mikurigaike Pond. After a nice walk, how about onsen and beer with mountain view? Don’t forget to taste Japan’s 100 remarkable water, Tateyama Tamadono Spring Water before you leave Murodo. This spring water originates from melted snow of Mt. Tateyama while mountain layers filter water for 200-300 years, and you will love this 2-5℃ (35-41°F) cold soft water! At Kurobe Dam, Japan’s tallest arch dam at 186m (610ft), get splashed with massive water discharge. You can experience all of these in Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Let’s escape the summer heat and recharge in nature!
