Latest reporting from the CDC shows this year’s flu season is the deadliest non-pandemic flu season for U.S. children. 216 children have died. This number passed last year’s flu season, which set a previous high for a non-pandemic season with 207 pediatric deaths. Even with seasonal flu activity declining since its February peak, AAP and CDC recommend everyone six months and older get vaccinated against the flu.
