Meat is often accompanied and paired with potatoes and roti to make a complete meal. But according to Ayurveda, the combination of starch with animal protein is an absolute no-no.

The reasoning behind this is eating foods that are rich in carbohydrates and proteins together create a host of digestion issues.

Limit your salt consumption🍛 in summer🌡️🌞

Sea salt (Samudra Lavana) that we commonly purchase provokes Pitta and increases body temperature. Rock salt (Saindhava Lavana) is considered to be the best salt in Ayurveda. Whenever possible use rock salts in your salads🥗, sherbets, juices🍹🥃 and cooling drinks🍹. Also, try to avoid fast foods🍱 since it contains a lot of salt and lacks nutrition.

Yes, Ayurveda does not advise sleeping during the day as it may cause an imbalance between the 💦kapha(water element) and 🔥pitta (fire element) doshas. This imbalance can have adversely effect on the functioning of the body.

Should you feel some afternoon fatigue, perhaps put your legs up the wall or do 20 minutes of yoga nidra.
