Graduate Assembly

The Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) is an organization of graduate students dedicated to enhancing graduate student life at Texas Tech University. GSAC members collaborate with TTU graduate students, graduate student organizations, the Student Government Association, and the Dean of the Graduate School to address graduate student issues, produce academic and professional workshops, host social events, and participate in community service. We are also active members of the National Association of Graduate & Professional Students (NAGPS) and participate in state- and national-level legislative lobbying efforts on behalf of graduate students. All graduate students at Texas Tech are members of GSAC, and we welcome everyone to our regular council and commission meetings as well as to our events. The GSAC works through regular meetings of the elected council and through the work of its commissions focusing on specific issues of importance to graduate students. Our meetings include an "Open Student Forum" where graduate students may voice concerns and issues in an open and safe environment. In the 2012-13 academic year, GSAC was named Graduate Student Organization of the Year and Newcomer Organization of the Year by the Center for Campus Life at Texas Tech. We were also honored as the 2012 Southcentral Member of the Year by NAGPS at their national conference. Please share your ideas, questions, concerns, and achievements with us!
