My brother told me this one Sunday at Church, and there hasn’t been a day in which it doesn’t sit at the front of my mind.

At least, be thankful. At most, be thankful.

A lot to cherish, love & be grateful for. I’m trying hard like everybody else. Joy feels good, so does the sun. Tell ya people you’re proud of them. Tell em, you love em. Celebrate em. Smile with em. We all we got.

Nobody’s perfect, but nobody asked you to be. Keep showing up. Thank you my friends, for everything.

Last Friday, my mother called at 5:15 (ironically enough) to let me know her mother, and my grandmother Marie, had passed away.. I knew something up because she never calls during dinner time, and rarely on a Friday. As I stared at the phone, I knew what the call was about. Like many others who are blessed enough to reach their 90’s, some days were better than others, but the previous 6 months had been rough. Receiving the news meant she was at peace.

3 hours later we was on the stage opening up to Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony.. a group that helped to shape my sound and folks I admired being from Cleveland. They got love, admiration and actually made it coming from the Midwest, so it seemed reachable to us.. they also had a song with Biggie & Pac and not many folks are able to claim that..

I got a chance to share a moment of silence, love & remembrance for her. She was a good woman. Like my sisters said during her service yesterday, she was very present. Did the most with what she had. Was extremely resourceful. Creative. A great listener and made you feel at home. I pray she was enjoying the show Friday night, and dancing a little like she’d try to every now and then when one of her favorites came on. Love you and always will. Hug ya people and be present. Got one shot.

Our team at .foundation had the pleasure of collaborating with for the 5th annual Longshots 2024 merchandise. Inspired by her work that’s currently being installed at EKD, titled “Growth Culture” • hoodies and jerseys are on presale now until Sunday • s/o to • • • any many others for helping to bring this vision to reality.

The tournament will take place on Saturday, October 26 at EKD and will serve as a celebration of many things. If you’re interested in volunteering, being apart or just sliding thru, please lmk!

That man turns 21 this weekend, and we outside. Saturday we got Subtle Sound Wav 007 at down in the East Village. Sunday we at on the patio hosting Subtle Sunday, one time for the one time. Come say hi & bye to summer..

The Move 7..🌻

Whenever I figure out how to bottle the feeling that was captured last night at we’ll be billionaires. 7 times we’ve pulled off The Move, and somehow each time it gets even better. Thank you to every soul that came through, bought some art, supported the scene or even spoke to a stranger and hopefully made a new friend. The city is a special place, and I’m thankful to be a small part of the progress and beauty.

They say you’re the company you keep, and if so, I’m beyond blessed to have mine. Takes a village to put this off, and all hands were on deck last night in a beautiful way.

Our only obligation and duty is to serve. The rest all pans out how it’s supposed to. Keep taking care of one another. Keep supporting art. Keep being kind. We onto something very special. I love you Des Moines, and always will. Forever indebted. 🌻

Yesterday we pulled up to Moore Elementary to celebrate Black History Month and pay homage to 50 years of hip-hop. Each grade level had a moment in time, and showed their respect and love to the sound and culture. Organized and orchestrated by a good friend Bettina Bradley and the rest of the staff at Moore. Got a chance to let the youngins know how hip-hop changed my life and continues to do so. The importance of words and their voice, and how some belief in themselves can change their life. Thank you Des Moines & thank you hip-hop, for everything.. 🌻

My brother kilt the second Subtle Sound Wav series last weekend. S/o to my brother for letting us in the studio space.

My brother got a show in Denver on 8.17. Headline show in his hometown, we love to see it. The family will be in attendance.

To any of my creative and dope friends. The .foundation is looking for “Creative Coaches” for the fall and spring semester. It’s an opportunity for you to create the curriculum and game plan you’d like to share with the students of the DMPS. All ages (elementary to high school). The Foundation & family helped to celebrate King Elementary’s 50th year anniversary yesterday. The kids showcased their talents. Families came out in abundance. was spinning. Energy was sincere and full.

This was also the first time the community had a chance to witness the beautiful mural that was created by . We partnered with her months back on something that was new to us all, and she exceeded any and all expectations. S/o to Jill • .stessman • • .than.art • .foundation • • • • • and countless others who helped to not only celebrate in conjunction with King yesterday, but helped to bring such a beautiful project to life.. inspired & forever indebted.. 🌻

I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to our community for their support yesterday and everyday. Thanks to our collective action, I was able to sit down with Linda, Tom, members of the Parks Area Foundation and members of my team today to discuss a plan for restoration, as hip-hop belongs in our community and most especially at the Riverview Park Amphitheater. A misunderstanding led to reconciliation.

Based on our discussion, we’ve been granted access to utilize the venue to produce an event/festival for the 2023 Summer season, as well as receive support via grant funding and additional financial sources. We’ve also been granted creative direction of the amphitheater for next year’s programming, and a seat at the table for how the overall space is utilized moving forward. A critical first step to ensuring the voices of the people are heard.

We see this as a solid first step in partnering with our elected officials to promote cultural inclusivity and will be assembling a community meeting on Monday, December 12 at 7:00 pm at Mainframe Studios, to collectively determine how we want the event/festival to look and feel like so all nationalities, cultures, and viewpoints are represented.
